The Sessions (previously called The Surrogate) has been on my radar for a long time; with the much talked about performances from the stellar cast and sure to be heartwarming story it’s going to be something to see for sure. The movie stars John Hawkes as writer Mark O’Brien, whose body was ravaged by polio when he was a child and stuck him in an iron lung for the rest of his life. Bottom line now, he wants to have sex and lose his virginity.
He finds a sex surrogate (Helen Hunt) to help him learn the intricacies of sexual intercourse. It’s going to be moving and funny by the looks of things, and with a cast like Hunt, Hawkes and H. Macy, how can you go wrong?
The Sessions opens on October 26th.
Here is the trailer for Dirty Girl written and directed by Abe Sylvia, it’s his first feature film and has some charm by the looks of things. The film stars Juno Temple, Milla Jovovich, William H. Macy, Mary Steenburgen, Dwight Yoakam and Jeremy Dozier. Here’s hoping for a sweet 80′s soundtrack to accompany the film, they don’t make enough movies set in the 70′s and 80′s if you ask me.
Danielle (Juno Temple) is a troubled and promiscuous Oklahoma high school student in the 1980s. She argues with her mother (Milla Jovovich) who is about to marry a Mormon and amidst the chaos befriends Clarke (Jeremy Dozier), a shy, gay classmate. Together they flee in Clarke’s homophobic father’s car and embark on a road trip to Los Angeles, where Danielle expects to find her birth father.
