Deadline has the scoop saying the novel is a set of six interconnected stories that have very different settings, subject matter and style. So that might be where having three directors makes sense.
Deadline has this synopsis: An epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspire a revolution.
Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool.
Don’t pretend like you don’t care, two of the biggest movie stars of all time are going to get busy. Julia Roberts did have a go with Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory, but that movie was so-so. Larry Crowne has Tom Hanks directing, writing, producing and starring…so it has to be good right? He took on the same workload with 1996′s That Thing You Do! and that movie is highly underrated. Here’s hoping he gave it all he’s got this time around too.
Synopsis:After Larry Crowne (Hanks), a middle-aged man, is terminated from his job, he goes back to college, where he unexpectedly forms bonds with his fellow students and a romantic relationship with his professor (Roberts).
Another theme ride is coming to life, and it’s going to take Woody and Buzz to make it interesting. It worked with Pirates of the Caribbean thanks to Johnny Depp and company, and now Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will take the plunge with Jungle Cruise. Can their animated chemistry work in a live-action film? Disney thinks so:
The Walt Disney Studios is excited to be in development with Mandeville Films and writer Roger S.H. Schulman on a feature film based on the Jungle Cruise, one of the most iconic attractions in Disney theme park history. The film will pair up Tim Allen and Tom Hanks in their first live-action project, after their previous collaborations in the Toy Story trilogy.
From what I’m told of the ride, Jungle Cruise is a leisurely ride along a lagoon with some animatronic animals. Here’s the description of the ride from the Disney site. [Source: Deadline]
The film follows Oskar, a 10-year old boy whose father (Hanks) dies in the September 11th attacks. As the story goes, Oskar embarks on a journey to deal with his loss and discover more about the lock-box key left behind by his father. The script was written by Oscar-winner Eric Roth(Forrest Gump). Goodman will play a doorman in Oskar’s apartment building who “goes on a trip to exhume the father’s coffin.” In addition to Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, he can also be seen this March in Kevin Smith’s Red State [trailer].
THE MOVIE: Steven Spielberg‘s World War II epic Saving Private Ryan chronicles the journey of a GI squad on a dangerous mission behind enemy lines. Led by Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks), the unit is under orders to track down a soldier, Private Ryan (Matt Damon), so he might return home to his mother in America, where she is grieving the unimaginable loss of her three other sons to the war.
Buzz beats Woody again! In this teaser it seems the whole gang is back from Wallace Shawn’s almost-inconceivable Rex the Green Dinosaur, to John Ratzenberger’s lazy Hamm the Piggy Bank to Joan Cusack’s wild Jessie and Don Rickles’ back-breaking Mr. Potato Head. Unfortunately, this is all we’ll get for a little while, the full trailer is supposed to premiere in October during that special double-billing of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D. Toy Story 3 is slated to hit screens on June 18, 2010.
