Some may see lawyers as cape-less superheroes who stand-up for civilian rights, while others may see them as sleazy liars who try to squeeze money out of vulnerable people. Vincent “Vinny” Gambini from “My Cousin Vinny”
An early nineties film, “My Cousin Vinny,” stars Joe Pesci as the cousin of Bill and the lawyer of him and his friend Stan who are accused of murder in rural Alabama. Vinny is a loud-mouthed New Yorker, who isn’t accustomed to southern etiquette. He ends up winning the case for his cousin, after finding humility and a law-book.
Father’s Day is this Sunday, so I thought it would be appropriate to talk about some fathers in movie history that stand out above the rest. I’m not a father, but as a son I can tell you that a man’s relationship with his father is one of the most important relationships in his life. It might be that reason alone that the bond between father and son is put on the big screen so often, it’s relatable and universal.
