 Rise of the Planet of the ApesIMDBRT (80%) – CoF

The reviews are in for these Apes and they are pretty great considering this movie wasn’t on anyone’s radar pretty much until this past month.  Andy Serkis is getting amazing praise for his powerful performance as Caser the Ape which begs the question: Could Andy Serkis win an Oscar for playing a CGI Ape?  It’s a game changer.  Also, this movie isn’t in 3D, have to respect that.

The Change-UpIMDBRT (19%) – CoF

Can a comedy be too crude?  Seems so by what people are saying of The Change-Up.  Leslie Mann plays a bitch yet again, she’s got range people and the movie was written by the gents who gave us The Hangover and the remake, The Hangover Part II.

The Whistleblower (limited) – IMDBRT (62%) - CoF

Rachel Weisz and Monica Bellucci.  Sold.

Based on real events, Rachel Weisz stars is The Whistleblower, a UN peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia who uncovers corruption, cover-up and intrigue amid a world of private contractors and multinational diplomatic doubletalk.  With Weisz we get David Strathairn, Benedict Cumberbatch, Monica Bellucci, Jason Isaacs, and Vanessa Redgrave.
