If you checked out our Facebook page yesterday you probably saw the image of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone in the hospital together getting shoulder surgery.  Well have no fear, that the pair are will be back on the big screen together in an upcoming action/thriller says deadline.  The Tomb is about a prison designer (Stallone) who is imprisoned in his own design, and must rely on a seasoned con (Schwarzenegger) to escape.

The two actors are in and Mikael Håfström (The Rite, 1408) is set to direct.  The film will shoot this spring. Miles Chapman (Road House 2) wrote the screenplay with Jason Keller (Machine Gun Preacher, Mirror Mirror) doing a rewrite.

The Tomb follows Ray Breslin (Stallone) who is the world’s foremost authority on structural security. He’s analyzed every high security prison and has gained a vast array of survival skills. But all Ray’s ingenuity and knowledge are about to be put to work in the most challenging test he’s ever faced: escaping from the master prison of his own design. Schwarzenegger, in the role of Church, plays a complex inmate with multiple shades of grey. He’s the guy who fights to keep the prisoners from losing their humanity in their darkest hour as they struggle together to stay alive.

It’s almost been 9 years since Arnold Schwarzenegger fired a gun (Terminator 3), but he’s back, along with all his playground buddies in the first trailer for The Expendables 2.  There is no plot in here, just what some may call the best action movie roster of all time: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth, Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The film will get a August 17 release next year, in the mean time watch the teaser below and there’s a synopsis too if you care:

The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal…Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Lee Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren),Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time — six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that’s nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother. That is done the Expendables way.

Based on the graphic novel Bullet to the Head, written by Matz and illustrated by Colin Wilson, it tells the story of a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) and a New York City cop who form an alliance to bring down the killers of their respective partners.  The film is scheduled to begin production on location in Louisiana later this month

As for the title which may undergo a change, THR doesn’t report on a new one, but does say the film was formerly called Headshot so we will go with that for now.

The trailer for Zookeeper is here, it stars Kevin James who is trying to win back the girls of his dreams.  Animals talk and decide he needs help, slapstick follows.  TGI Fridays?  Really?

"I said...no budding"

Empire recently spoke to Sylvester Stallone exclusively to cover The Expendables they did what all good internet folks would do, and asked about the Rambo V situation.  Go?  Or no go?

“I think Rambo’s pretty well done. I don’t think there will be any more. I’m about 99% sure,” said Stallone, “I was going to do it,” he said. “I said I’d never talk about this, but with I feel that with Rocky Balboa, that character came complete circle. He went home. But for Rambo to go on another adventure might be, I think, misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary. I don’t want that to happen.  I’m very happy with the last Burmese episode, because I didn’t pull any punches on it,” he continued. “I wanted it to be what civil war really is – rough. You can’t candy coat it, and where do you go from there? So that’s [Rambo V] going to go.”

Stallone’s not done with Rambo completely, though. He told Empire that he’s at work on a director’s cut of Rambo which will restore twelve minutes to the movie:  “He does a speech at the beginning of the movie to Julie Benz where he lays out why his life has been a complete disappointment and why war is natural and peace is an accident,” added Stallone. “And how he just feels that his life has been a waste. It’s very important to hear that and I didn’t think so at the time. I’m going to go back and put in some stuff.”

IGN has just debuted a brand new one-sheet poster for the upcoming action film The Expendables, which is set for release on August 20.

The Expendables stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, David Zayas, Giselle Itie, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Brittany Murphy, Charisma Carpenter, Liam Hemsworth, Gary Daniels…and probably your neighbor for good measure.

After the jump, a very in-depth synopsis, I couldn’t be bothered to read it, but I think it involves badassery.

THE EXPENDABLES is a hard-hitting action/thriller about a group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Once the mission begins, the men realize things arent quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal. With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge one that threatens to destroy this band of brothers.

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) is a man with nothing to lose. Fearless and void of emotion, he is the leader, the sage and the strategist of this tight-knit band of men who live on the fringe. His only attachment is to his pickup truck, his seaplane and his team of loyal modern-day warriors. His is a true cynic who describes what he does as removing those hard to get at stains. On a reconnaissance mission to Vilena, Barney and Christmas meet their contact Sandra (Giselle Itie), a local freedom-fighter with a dark secret. They also come to learn who their true enemy is: rogue ex-CIA operative James Monroe (Eric Roberts) and his henchman Paine (Steve Austin). When things go terribly wrong, Barney and Christmas are forced to leave Sandra behind, essentially giving her a death sentence. Haunted by this failure, Barney convinces the team to return to Vilena to rescue the hostage and finish the job he started. And to perhaps save a soul: his own.

Stallone wanted to clear up the details on RAMBO 5, as well as his other upcoming film.  So he sent an email to STALLONEZONE that I found on  JoBlo to discuss the status: From Sly

Hi Craig, To all the loyal SZoners out there I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished.  There will be blood.

If you saw Rambo last year then you know that when he says “there will be blood”, Sly means it.  What a come back.
