Guy Ritchie’s 2009 Sherlock Holmes film is one of my favorites, it’s everything I love about the movies and was a great surprise.  As soon as I heard they were putting together a sequel (no surprise) I knew I was there.  The trailer is here for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and it looks like another fun ride for this holiday season.

The film comes out on December 16, 2011 check out the trailer below and tell us what you think.   Apple has the trailer in HD or watch it below.

News To Me: Sherlock Sequel Date

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Sherlock HolmesSherlock Holmes 2 is a go for a December 16th 2011 release.  This was news a few days ago, but my computer was in the shop (it was asking to be kicked down the stairs for weeks, seriously).  It might not be huge news to care about missing – but I have to say, Holmes was maybe my favourite movie of last year.  It’s so much fun and Downey and Law are just the greatest in their respective roles.

Here is some “trivia” for my awesome Citizens:

Colin Farrell and Sam Worthington were both in talks to play Watson before Jude Law was cast (thank you).  Sienna Miller was in talks for a role before her ex Jude Law was cast as Watson (ha, burn).  Watson’s line to Holmes, “You know that what you’re drinking is for eye surgery,” is an obscure reference to Holmes’ cocaine usage. At the time, cocaine was used as a topical anesthetic for eye surgery. In the stories, Holmes injects cocaine (looks like I won’t be tossing that library card out after all).

movies-2009

This is not a list.  The following is a wide range of great films that came out in the year 2009.  We strongly urge every Citizen to check out these titles.  Sorry to the Twilight fans; your movie is still arse.  Stay tuned for our most anticipated movies of 2010.  With the exception of ‘The Single Best Movie of the Year’, the rest are in no particular order.
