Here is the first trailer for director Pascal Chaumeil’s (Heartbreaker) adaptation of the Nick Hornby novel A Long Way Down. The story revolves around a group of strangers who coincidentally meet on the top of a London skyscraper on New Year’s Eve where they individually had gone to commit suicide and “Instead of jumping, these four strangers make a pact to stay alive and stay together until Valentine’s Day at least”. That sounds watchable already; I never read this one but I do like me some Hornby adaptations (About a Boy, An Education, High Fidelity) so it won’t take a lot to sell me on this.
The film also stars Rosamund Pike, Sam Neill, and Tuppence Middleton. A Long Way Down opens in the U.K. on March 21st; check out the trailer after the synopsis below:
New Year’s Eve on the top of a London skyscraper. MARTIN (Brosnan) is literally on the edge. A once-beloved TV personality, he’s now desperate to jump. But he’s not alone. Single mother MAUREEN, (Collette), sassy teen JESS (Poots), and failed musician turned pizza-delivery boy JJ (Paul), have all turned up on the same roof with the same plan. Instead of jumping, these four strangers make a pact to stay alive and stay together until Valentine’s Day at least. Both funny and poignant, A LONG WAY DOWN follows this group of unlikely friends as they try to pull back from the brink.
Here is first trailer for the 3D re-release of Jurassic Park, Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic that is sure to stir up all sorts of nostalgia with fans. We did a CoF Show about the trilogy, so there’s that.
It would be worth seeing Jurassic Park on the big screen, if not for the post 3D conversion. We talked about on the show that the effects hold up very well after 20 years, the trailer does a good job at making us look like truth tellers.
The film stars Sam Neill, Richard Attenborough, Laura Dern, Joseph Mazzello, Ariana Richards, Wayne Knight, and Samuel L. Jackson.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer, Jurassic Park 3D hits theaters on April 5th, 2013.
Here is the new trailer for The Hunter starring Willem Dafoe who plays a man hired to track and hunt the last remaining Tasmanian Tiger…you heard me. The trailer is actually pretty cool and you can’t go wrong with Dafoe or Sam Neill. Check out the trailer below, the film was directed by Daniel Nettheim. The Hunter will be available VOD on March 2nd, and hits theaters April 6th.
Martin is a skilled and ruthless mercenary sent into the Tasmanian wilderness on a hunt for a tiger believed to be extinct. Hired by an anonymous company that wants the tiger’s genetic material, Martin proceeds to set up base camp at a broken-down farmhouse, where he stays with a family whose father has gone missing. Martin becomes increasingly close to the family; however, as his attachment to the family grows, Martin is led down a path of unforeseen dangers, complicating his deadly mission.
Here is the trailer for the romantic drama The Vow with Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. It’s said to be “based on true events”, but didn’t say which events…so maybe the dance scene happened to someone in real life? Sure why not?
The story follows a newlywed couple that recovers from a car accident that put the wife into a coma and who eventually wakes up with severe memory loss, so her husband has to win her heart again.
Check out the trailer below, The Vow arrives in theaters on February 15:
