THE BOXTROLLS Trailer Shows Off a great Stop-Motion Adventure

Wednesday, June 11th, 2014

We have a new trailer for The Boxtrolls form Laika Studios’, the same folks who brought us the charming Coraline and ParaNorman. It looks like a lot of fun and if you enjoy stop-motion (you should) this would be something you definitely want to support. The Boxtrolls stars Ben Kingsley, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, Elle Toni Collette, Fanning, Jared Harris, Richard Ayoade and Tracy Morgan.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Boxtrolls:

The new 3D animated feature from Laika Studios tells the tale of the Boxtrolls, monsters who live underneath the charming streets of Cheesebridge, who crawl out of the sewers at night to steal what the townspeople hold most dear: their children and their cheeses. At least, that’s the legend the townspeople have always believed. In truth, the Boxtrolls are a community of lovable oddballs who are raising as one of their own an abandoned and orphaned human boy named Eggs. When the Boxtrolls are targeted by a villainous exterminator who is bent on eradicating them, Eggs must venture aboveground to save them, where he teams with an adventurous young girl to save not only the Boxtrolls but the soul of Cheesebridge.

The BoxTrolls will be released September 26, 2014, watch the trailer below:

Jesse Eisenberg Takes On Himself in This New Trailer for THE DOUBLE

Sunday, March 2nd, 2014

Click for full poster.

A devious doppelganger or a imaginative office drone?  That’s the question I pose after watching this great new trailer for writer/director Richard Ayoade’s (The IT Crowd, Submarine) new film The Double.

Simon is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. He feels powerless to change any of these things. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon’s exact physical double and his opposite – confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon’s horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.

This trailer is quick, dark, and funny, I hope the whole movie feels the same way.  It looks wholly original, Ayoade has another winner here.  The film received many a positive response at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film also stars Wallace Shawn, Chris O’Dowd, Sally Hawkins, Craig Roberts, Yasmin Paige, Noah Taylor, James Fox, Cathy Moriarty, and Paddy Considine.

The Double will be available VOD and in theaters on May 9th, watch the trailer below:

Red Band Trailer for Neighborhood Watch Now Called THE WATCH

Monday, May 7th, 2012

Neighborhood Watch has a new red band trailer and to distance itself from the Trayvon Martin case in Florida, it will now simply be called The Watch.  The movie looks entertaining still, what’s in a title anyways?  The film stars Vaughn, Hill, Stiller and Richard Ayoade.  I suspect from the trailer there was a lot of ad-libbing on this one, nothing wrong with that when it comes to comedy I think.

An outrageous comedy in which four everyday suburban guys (played by Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade) come together to form a neighborhood watch group, but only as an excuse to escape their humdrum lives one night a week. But when they accidentally discover that their town has become overrun with aliens posing as ordinary suburbanites, they have no choice but to save their neighborhood — and the world — from total extermination.

Teaser Trailer for NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH Starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade

Thursday, March 1st, 2012

Neighborhood-WatchThe teaser for Neighborhood Watch can be seen below; it’s a teaser in every sense and could mean good things for the film.   Akiva Schaffer (The Lonely Island, Hot Rod) is directing a script from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the pair that wrote Pineapple Express.  Not to mention Richard Ayoade who plays Maurice Moss in The IT Crowd is starring as well, nerds will understand.

The film stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade.  They play suburban dads who form a neighborhood watch group to get time away from their families, only to discover a plot to destroy Earth.  Sound about right doesn’t it?

Check out the teaser below, Neighborhood Watch opens July 27th.
