If you’re tired of the onslaught of Avengers media happening right now, here’s a new trailer for another huge movie coming this summer, The Amazing Spider-Man. I’m not that big into The Avengers and will likely pass it over when it’s released, but Spider-Man has a lot of promise and is something I’m pretty excited about.
There is some new footage here and more Aunt May for those demanding it. The Amazing Spider-Man swings into 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on July 3. Directed by Marc Webb, the film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.
Sony Pictures revealed the clip below from the film’s viral site at MarkOfTheSpider-Man.com, it shows Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) against a doorman (not Bruce Campbell). Fans of the TV show Rescue Me will notice the doorman is played by John Scurti aka Lt. Kenny Shea. Denis Leary who plays George Stacy in Spider-Man starred in Rescue Me as well. It’s a reunion people!
The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters on July 3rd.
The Amazing Spider-Man has a new trailer and it’s definitely doing a good job at letting people know that this is not another Sam Raimi telling of Spider-Man. I still believe Spider-Man 2 is one of the best films in the superhero genre. So Marc Webb’s reboot of Spider-Man has a lot to prove in my books.

Guillermo del Toro has is working on a film production for a live action version of Beauty and the Beast, and Harry Potter star Emma Watson is lined up to star. This is a fitting project for Del Toro, but I can’t help remember the “modern” take on the story from earlier this year, Beastly. It wasn’t good was it? [coming soon]
According to The Telegraph director Sam Medes has cast Rhys Ifans in Bond 23, which is finally happening and scheduled to start shooting next month.
Ifans is also playing The Lizard in the new Amazing Spider-Man film currently in production.
Variety is reporting Edward Norton is in negotiations to play the villain in The Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner. The film is being directed by Tony Gilroy and also has Rachel Weisz attached to star. Not a lot of details about this Matt Damon-less Bourne movie at this time so stay tuned.
Quentin Tarantino is in negotiations to cast Kevin Costner in his next film Django Unchained. The Cast so far includes Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio. Costner will play a character named Ace Woody, “the sadistic trainer of the male fighting slaves who entertain the white patrons of Candyland as well as the female slaves who are forced to be prostitutes. The club and ranch are owned by Calvin Candie (DiCaprio) and Ace Woody is the one who pits the “mandingo” fighters against one another, and has little qualms about mistreating and even killing the slaves who don’t measure up.” [deadline]
Costner will take the role after playing Pa Kent in the Superman reboot Man Of Steel [see].
Here’s the first trailer for Roland Emmerich’s Anonymous, a thriller based on the controversy of who really wrote the plays credited to someone named William Shakespeare. Emmerich you might recognize from 2012 and Godzilla, wait don’t leave! This movie might not make you run for the bomb shelter; which leaves me curious at least. There isn’t much of a plot here, but give it a few months and I’m sure we will have a trailer with some explanation. (more…)
