For Halloween video editor Kees Van Dijkhuizen[see past posts] has created a montage showcasing the films of Tim Burton. As he puts it:
Tim Burton is one of those filmmakers who tells stories unlike anyone else. Whether it’s about an alien invasion, the worst director of all time or a bride risen from the dead, Burton’s films are filled with unique and iconic characters and visuals that make his films unforgettable.

Here is preview video from BBC’s upcoming show Life’s Too Short created by Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Warwick Davis. The video below shows Davis introducing Depp to Gervais, there seems to be heat between the two after Gervais’ Golden Globes jokes aimed at the star. Forget the Tim Allen burn, I love that someone took a dig at Tim Burton casting his wife in everything he does. Watch below:

Here’s a bootleg video copy of the alternate opening to Wes Craven’s Scream 4, there is no real spoiler here since this version didn’t happen in the final cut, so enjoy. The film had its flaws (they all did really) but it holds well to the franchise I’ve said before and stand by it. Every entry into the Scream series has characters becoming smarter and more aware of what’s happening, so really, if anyone dies in Scream 5 they probably deserved it. Watch it below:

Almost 5 years later and people still have hate for this movie, as they should. Spider-Man 3 sucked and there are many reasons why; 145 says youtube user Dukklord. They went and created this video showcasing 145 reasons why Spider-Man 3 sucked, and I agree with all of them. Sam Raimi and the people who forced him to make the movie in such a way should be ashamed of themselves. Awful acting, story, character development and the fact that “Venom” is never called “Venom” to just name a few big ones.

We’ve featured a few compilations created by YouTube user mewlists, here’s another: the 100 Greatest Shut Ups in Films (watch below). Depending on where you work, I should warn you this is possibly NSFW. So if you work in a daycare for example…grab some headphones. My favorite from the list has to be Adam Sandler in Billy Madison, love that delivery.

Stop whatever you’re doing and watch the two video essay’s below. Chaos Cinema – The Decline and Fall of Action Filmmaking is a visual guide to what everyone already knows; action today just isn’t the same. In the new video essay published on Indiewire’s Press Play page, Los Angeles scholar and filmmaker Matthias Stork has put together a two part 18 minute look at the action in films we see today and compares it to the action style of filmmaking from decades ago. Oh how times have changed, and whether you agree with it or not it’s an impressive look at history.
