New Trailer for Documentary WEST OF MEMPHIS
Here is a new trailer for the documentary West of Memphis produced by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. The movie as you may know looks at the investigation surrounding the West Memphis Three, the three innocent men who were wrongly convicted of murdering three young boys and sent to prison for almost two decades.
The story is frustrating and should get your blood boiled, even when all is said and done.
West of Memphis opens on December 25th, watch the trailer after the synopsis below:
WEST OF MEMPHIS tells the untold story behind an extraordinary and desperate fight to bring the truth to light: a fight to stop the State of Arkansas from killing an innocent man. Starting with a searing examination of the police investigation into the 1993 murders of three eight-year-old boys in the small town of West Memphis, Arkansas, the film goes on to uncover new evidence surrounding the arrest and conviction of the other three victims of this shocking crime–Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley. All three were teenagers when they became the target of the police investigation; all three went on to lose 18 years of their lives–imprisoned for crimes they did not commit.

The epic journey opens December 14. Here’s the synopsis for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey for those who still don’t know…
Bilbo Baggins is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain, first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever… Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities… A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

THE HOBBIT Trilogy Concludes July 18th, 2014, New Title For Sequel

The third installment in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy will open on July 18th, 2014 with The Hobbit: There and Back Again. I was confused too, so here’s this:
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – December 14th, 2012.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug – December 13th, 2013.
The Hobbit: There and Back Again – July 18th, 2014.
I have a copy of this book on my shelf, I’m looking at it right now, it’s only 300 pages. I’m just saying.
FYI: At least we get three soundtracks from Howard Shore.
Mo’ Hobbits Mo’ Money, Peter Jackson Confirms THE HOBBIT Will Now Be a Trilogy

Via his Facebook Jackson announced his decision to expand his two-part adaptation of The Hobbit into a trilogy. Now before you jump up and shake your fist at the screen, yes the J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel was short, definitely not long enough to warrant 8-9 hours of movie, but I guess Peter Jackson is using material from the appendices and Tolkien’s notes to “make it as similar to The Lord of the Rings”.
So there will be more shooting, whatever actors they need will return, and a third installment in The Hobbit trilogy will arrive summer 2014. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is due out December 14th. The Hobbit: There and Back Again is due out December 13, 2013. Now, There and Back Again will likely be the title of the third entry, so what will the second installment be called? I know, I’m dying to know too. Sigh.
