So when’s The TINTIN Sequel Happening? Post Hobbit of course!

tintin

I don’t want to stretch out this news post more than it needs to be. So get this, Peter Jackson says he’ll make the sequel to 2011′s The Adventures of Tintin after he finishes The Hobbit trilogy.

The first TinTin (known better as The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn outside North America) produced by Jackon and directed by Steven Spielberg did well with critics and audiences, but more importantly didn’t lose money. It’s always been decided that Jackson would take the helm for the sequel with Spielberg taking on the producer role.

Jackson recently provided this update on Tintin (via CS) at the premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug:

“As soon as I’m free of The Hobbit, I’ll be going back into doing Tintin. It was held up by The Hobbit, but we have every intention of doing another Tintin movie and it’s just waiting on me to be done with these Hobbit movies.”

Note: This is a re-post.  Obviously.

If you’re lucky enough to be in the UK today North America you should know that the much anticipated movie The World’s End opens (August 23rd in North America) this weekend.  All of us here and our readers from what we can tell hold the Blood & Ice Cream films (Shaun of the Dead & Hot Fuzz) in high regard.  The time is growing near and word of mouth states this is a loyal entry into the series – thank goodness.

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries..

With Comic-Con, a few World’s End videos hit the web; Peter Jackson sat down with Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost for a great discussion about the film, there are new clips below as well.

Reminder: The World’s End opens in the UK on July 19th and in the US on August 23rd this weekend!

FYI: Peter Jackson had a cameo in Hot Fuzz, watch it here.

New Trailer for Documentary WEST OF MEMPHIS

Monday, November 5th, 2012

west-of-memhpisHere is a new trailer for the documentary West of Memphis produced by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh.  The movie as you may know looks at the investigation surrounding the West Memphis Three, the three innocent men who were wrongly convicted of murdering three young boys and sent to prison for almost two decades.

The story is frustrating and should get your blood boiled, even when all is said and done.

West of Memphis opens on December 25th, watch the trailer after the synopsis below:

WEST OF MEMPHIS tells the untold story behind an extraordinary and desperate fight to bring the truth to light: a fight to stop the State of Arkansas from killing an innocent man. Starting with a searing examination of the police investigation into the 1993 murders of three eight-year-old boys in the small town of West Memphis, Arkansas, the film goes on to uncover new evidence surrounding the arrest and conviction of the other three victims of this shocking crime–Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley. All three were teenagers when they became the target of the police investigation; all three went on to lose 18 years of their lives–imprisoned for crimes they did not commit.
