Tomorrow is the premiere of the Prince of Persia film and to say I have been torn would be an understatement. Hollywood is notorious for taking some of the most beloved video games and transforming them into steaming piles of cinematic rubbish. Super Mario Bros. had a humanoid Bowser, Mortal Kombat Annihilation utilized claymation, and House of the Dead was directed by Uwe Boll; just to name a few of the blunders. In the end, despite this track record of failure, I have decided that I will watch Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and it is for these following reasons. (more…)

Kid: Mortal Kombat, on Sega Genesis, is the best video game ever.
Billy Madison: I disagree, it’s a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever.
Ah, that’s better; a good laugh will have me forgetting this troubling news in no time. Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that talks are under way for a remake of Mortal Kombat. The site is reporting that Warner Bros. have been in talks with writer Oren Uziel to write the new film. Uziel’s screenplay Shimmer Lake was named to the infamous Black List in 2009, (The Black List ranks the best unproduced screenplays currently on the market).
The 1995 film spawned the sequel, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation in 1997 because two pieces of poop is better than one?*
