Louis CKLast night’s episode of Louie proved once more that one of the best shows on television has more insight and relevance than anything else currently airing, yet people are watching shit instead go figure.  The set up is that Louie goes to visit Dane Cook (even though he doesn’t really want to) in order to get his daughter some Lady Gaga tickets (her and Dane have the same promoter) . What follows is amazing television.

For those not in the know when it comes to the history between these two, here’s the short of it: Dane Cook has been accused of stealing Louis C.K.’s material.  This scene says so much about people, integrity, and just not being a dick to each other. Enjoy:

TV Premiere: Louie

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Louis CKSome may remember Lucky Louie on HBO, it was a great show that had the numbers and fan base but was taken down by the press and HBO didn’t want that kind of standing for a show.  If you’ve ever listened to the stand-up comedy of Louis C.K. (or have seen him live as I have) then you know what sort of humour you’re getting here.  He doesn’t come off as the world’s happiest man.

In the show LOUIE, which debuts June 29 at 11PM ET on FX, C.K. plays himself  – we see all of his guilt about being wealthy, his discomfort with being single in his forties, his curiosity about what’s offensive and what’s not these days.  The series will be loosely based on C.K.’s life, and will blend his stand-up material with extended autobiographical comedy short films depicting moments of his off-stage experiences. Louie C.K. directed, cast and edited the show with a budget of $250,000 provided by FX.  Watch it tonight!
