carnageThe first trailer for Roman Polanski‘s Carnage is here for your viewing pleasure.  It’s based on a play called “God of Carnage” by Yasmina Reza and follows two sets of parents who come together to discuss a fight between their children.  Things don’t go too well as you will see in the trailer which is filled with great humor and cringe worthy moments.  Who knew parents would come off as ridiculous and childlike when it comes to defending their own?

The great cast includes of Jodie Foster, John C. Reilly, Christoph Waltz, and Kate Winslet.

Carnage will play at the Venice Film Festival and the New York Film Festival. It opens December 16th. Watch the trailer:

The BeaverNot too long ago we shared the first (and great) poster for Jodie Foster’s The Beaver starring Mel Gibson.  There was no word when the film would see the light of day, until now.  I’m happy to report that it has the release window of spring 2011, not too far away folks.  Mel Gibson is still considered by many as a bad name, and when big money is involved, like with filmmaking, it’s a gamble to take on such headlines (you’ve seen them).  That being said, many people like myself still consider Mel Gibson to be one of our finest actors and directors, so let’s just enjoy the movies shall we?  The trailer is here and this looks like a winner.

[update]The film will get released to some markets on March 23 2011, and then expand on April 8 .

Official Synopsis: Two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster directs and co-stars with two-time Academy Award winner Mel Gibson in THE BEAVER – an emotional story about a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life.  Plagued by his own demons, Walter Black was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track…until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.

Also, the film will be rated PG-13.  Trailer after the jump. (more…)

ComingSoon snapped a shot of the poster for Jodie Foster‘s directorial effort The Beaver starring Mel Gibson.  Click the thumbnail to view the poster.

No one really knows if or when this film will be released unfortunately, Mel Gibson’s personal life has put the film in questionable hot water as the studio and Foster try to decide if people would actually see this movie.  The script was number one on the 2008 Black List (most-liked unproduced screenplays) and is about a man who finds a beaver puppet in the garbage and decides to communicate only using the beaver.  Early word on Gibson’s performance has been extremely positive and has gotten Oscar buzz from industry insiders.

As a huge Gibson fan, I must say it’s a shame that this film is being held up.

The Silence of The Lambs (1991)

THE MOVIE:
One of the finest films ever made is also often credited as being one of the best horror movies of all time as well.  That title is mainly in part to the Best Picture Oscar that was awarded.  Many people will say that horror often gets the snub come award season, but to be honest – true horror died a long time ago.  What we get not is watered down PG trash, suitable for any stomach.  Give me smarts!  Welcome, The Silence of The Lambs; (more…)

Mel Gibson is a favorite of mine, his movies are awesome and he’s awesome.  It’s been nearly a decade since he gave us something worth watching.  I heard some time ago about him getting in trouble with the law, I quickly dismissed it as lies, probably just some sugar tits trying to get him bad publicity.  So the guy took a break for awhile, directed some movies, appeared as colonel sanders on Kimmel and is currently working on a film with Jodie Foster about having a beaver on his hand.  GO GIBSON!  Here is a trailer for THE EDGE OF DARKNESS (after the jump) where he plays homicide detective Thomas Craven who is investigating the death of his activist daughter, he uncovers not only her secret life, but a corporate cover-up and government collusion that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence.

The film was directed by Casino Royale (the good one) director Martin Campbell and comes out January 29th 2010.

joeyxIt took me the last 45 minutes, but that was the most tasteful headline I could come up with believe it or not.  Of course I am referring to the film currently titled THE BEAVER that is to be directed by Jodie Foster and now comes news that it will star The Colonel himself Mel Gibson.  If you have ever heard of the Hollywood Blacklist, it’s basically a ranking of the hot screenplays that are unproduced making the rounds.   The Beav made the list, but can now see the light of day.

First-time writer Kyle Killen’s spec screenplay created all sorts of buzz even gaining the interest of Steve Carell and director Jay Roach (MEET THE PARENTS and AUSTIN POWERS).  Well, time passed and now Jodie Foster whos directing credits are pretty impressive with LITTLE MAN TATE and HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS has come on board to direct and personally got Gibson to star.

Gibson plays Walter, a troubled father, husband (to Foster) and CEO of a stalling toy company, who finds a puppet named The Beaver, which he begins to wear and communicate through  (Seriously).

Extra Tidbit: Foster and Gibson starred in the 1994 flick MAVERICK, which was awesome.
