M. Night Shyamalan’s AFTER EARTH Trailer

M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth could be the movie to stop people from sending him all those threatening letters – or it could be the last straw. It looks like a fun sci-fi adventure, but with his name attached I can’t help but moan. Will Smith is awesome and his son did a good job in Karate Kid; alas, M. Night hasn’t done anything good in years.
I will give it a chance, that’s all I can do. AFTER EARTH hits theaters on June 7, 2013.
Trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s AFTER EARTH Starring Will Smith and Jaden Smith

You can watch the trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth where we see Jaden and Will Smith crash land on a post-apocalyptic Earth, 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape. There is plenty of CGI animals to be fought off as you will see.
Stephen Gaghan (Traffic) and Gary Whitta (The Book of Eli) worked on the screenplay, but Shyamalan, does he have a good movie in him anymore? The film also stars Zoe Kravitz, Sophie Okonedo, and Isabelle Fuhrman.
After Earth opens June 7, 2013.
Will and Jaden Smith, Directed By M. Night Shyamalan
Razzie award-winning director M. Night Shyamalan is coming back for more. Last year we mentioned how he and Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid 2010) were prepping a sci-fi film for the young star. It’s been made official, and his co-star will be his father, Will Smith.
Last year it was One Thousand A.E., currently the Sony Pictures press release refers to the film as “an untitled sci-fi adventure” but it sounds like they have the same premise being worked on. A thousand years after Earth has been abandoned, a young boy and his father return to the now frightening planet after their spaceship crashes.
Shyamalan had this to say: “The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project.” It’s safe to say Will Smith is still set to produce as he was when he wasn’t a co-star. If there’s one man who you can bank on for producing ann starring, it’s Will Smith (check his numbers). Let’s hope the creative voices drown out whatever lamebrain “twist” ideas Shyamalan has. M. Night’s Next Project: One Thousand A.E. With Jaden Smith
We take the piss out of M. Night a lot around here; he makes some pretty unlikeable films. He certainly knows how to keep busy regardless of what fans and critics say; and if I were in his position, I’d probably disregard them as well.
His last film, The Last Airbender went onto gross over $300 million worldwide, so obviously the sequel light goes on in some suits office and a script is made. However a new project is on the way says Heat Vision called One Thousand A.E.
Shyamalan will direct the sci-fi film One Thousand A.E. in conjunction with Overbrook Entertainment. Overbrook is the production company run by Will Smith, James Lassiter, Ken Stovitz, and Jada Pinkett, and was responsible for The Karate Kid re-make that made crazy money and starred Jaden Smith. One Thousand A.E. is being “developed as a vehicle for Jaden Smith”. M. Night won’t be writing this one surprisingly, Gary Whitta, who wrote the screenplay for The Book of Eli, will be taking on that role.
Not a lot is known from a story standpoint right now, as Shyamalan likes to keep those details secret as long as he can. Like how he kept secret that The Last Airbender sucked. And I’m spent.
