inception cast

One of the movies to see in 2010 is Christopher Nolan’s Inception.  I am getting as excited to this as I was to see his Dark Knight.  Inception looks to be one fun ride, and above all it’s an original idea!  Warner Bros. released some photos for the film seen here in a nice interview with the LA Times, where it’s called — Hollywood’s first existential heist film. Jump for the photos. (more…)

Inception Plot And Run Time Confirmed

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Is it Nolan day or something?  Anything that Christopher Nolan touches seems to turn to gold.  The CoF staff is pretty excited and curious what the man has up his sleeve for INCEPTION.  And I haven’t asked them, but I am pretty sure we would all leave our significant others for Leonardo Dicaprio.  Here’s some news about Inception, NO spoilers.

The February issue of Empire Magazine  mentions in the “On-Set Preview” section, that Christopher Nolan has had the the idea for the movie brewing in his head for quite a while, conceptualizing the idea when he was only 16 years old. (more…)

You know it's true.

Last time we spoke, DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson denied that Christopher Nolan was overseeing the new Superman film.  A house of lies.

Nolan is overseeing Superman for WB as David Goyer writes the script based on a story by Nolan and Goyer. We know this because Nolan is talking about it. The director promises good things for the next Superman, and his wife, producer Emma Thomas, denies a few other recent rumors.  Meanwhile, Jonathan Nolan is ‘now doing the hard work’ on a script for Batman 3, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and Goyer. I just got chills.

The LA Times has quotes from Nolan and Thomas about Superman:

It’s very exciting, we have a fantastic story. And we feel we can do it right. We know the milieu, if you will, we know the genre and how to get it done right…[it] is a way of approaching the story I’ve never seen before that makes it incredibly exciting. I wanted to get Emma and I involved in shepherding the project right away and getting it to the studio and getting it going in an exciting way. But wait, there’s more!

CoF Presents: Movies To See In 2010

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

So here we are with a new year and a new line up of movies to enjoy.  Did you hear that 2009’s box office beat the sales of DVD and Blu-ray?  Really, for true life it did.  We made a Movies You Should Have Seen In 2009 so it’s no wonder we have put together a list of Movies To See In 2010.  That is, the hope that these said movies live up to their hype or at least the expectations we have granted them.  On with the show this is it…

inception teaser #2

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Here is another trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Inception (after the break), and I am getting pretty excited having had memories of when The Matrix while I viewed this.  I have no idea what is going on in this trailer, and that’s the way I likes it; confusing and cool.  Inception opens in theaters and IMAX July 2010.

batman 3 announcement coming in january

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

batman

Film School Rejects picked up a story from Batman-on-Film regarding a possible Batman 3 announcement early next year. The half baked rumors only seem to work on some people, so I will sum it up: Right now, there’s no third movie.  The assumption has been for a while that Christopher Nolan would return to possibly wrap up the series with complete control over his third installment (that’s some Orson Welles shit right there).

So the major announcement?  Odds are if Nolan weren’t directing it he wouldn’t be a part of the announcement.  So my guess is that he is directing and will say that he and his brother are working on the story.   Meanwhile we have Inception to look forward to.  That is sure to put a smile on your face!  See what I did there?  Joker.

inception trailer, more spinning

sickcastThe official theatrical trailer for the Christopher Nolan movie INCEPTION is here (after jump).

The very secretive sci- fi screen venture that is touted to be quite close to Nolan’s heart, and holds a very impressive cast.  INCEPTION stars Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead and is the unique story of what is said to deal with the “architecture of the mind”.  Finally!

It’s said that since Nolan is off THE PRISONER, so there is a good chance BATS 3 is a go sooner.  But the internet said that…and they also said I won $1million.  Gutted.

where does he get those wonderful toys?

where does he get those wonderful toys?

Brought to you by: Action Figures!

I’m not talking about those tall stiff “collectors” items that you can’t even take out of the box.  I’m talking about the figures that between the ages of about 5-15 (just me?) you could actually play with.  I would toss these things around until I had blisters on ma fingers I would.  Giving them voices, storylines and even red wash off paint if they got into a brawl.  I would run home from school knowing that Batman was itching to get out of the toy box and clean up the streets (my book shelves).  Every few months I come across my bag of figures, and the warmest of memories come flooding back.  The many plastic souls of childhood; click the pic to see full-size action.
