Improv Everywhere is at it again, this time they recreate the opening scene from Ghostbusters in the main reading room of the New York Public Library.
The New York Public Library approached us about a month ago and asked if we would want to stage an Improv Everywhere mission on their property. The library is facing serious budget cuts, and they thought having us do something awesome there might serve to remind people of how great the NYPL is. We couldn’t say no to the opportunity to do something in their gorgeous, 100 year-old Rose Main Reading Room.

It’s official, Ivan Reitman ain’t afraid of no ghosts. Or trilogies for that matter. MTV shared with us this morning that the director will return to his roots with another Ghostbusters. He wouldn’t comment on recent rumours about the film such as the statements made by Sigourney Weaver, who said that Bill Murray’s Peter Venkman character may appear in the film as a ghost. “I’m not going to comment on what’s in the script and on what Sigourney may or may not have said.” He offers that there are “some very cool things” in the script now.
I hope they don’t go the route of new young recruits being taught by the original aged gang. I think the old age alone is set up for some classic comedy. Weaver’s son Oscar from the sequel may be grown up now – perhaps he can be working at becoming a buster himself. With new technology and 3D all over the shop, we may have a pretty spectacular movie on our hands here.

Anyone who claims they beat this game is a filthy liar.
Today’s Links are Brought to you by: Chakan: The Forever Man, a Sega video game released 1992. The game featured an uncommonly dark premise for the time of its release. The game is well-known, and loathed by many for its unusually high difficulty level, but still retains a dedicated, if small, fanbase. I still get angry about this game and I haven’t seen a Sega System in over a decade. We owned this game in the mix of gems like Battletoads and Bubsy, and never got close to beating it. We got so desperate one night to get past a level that we asked our Dad for help. I never saw more than the first level, gutted. Someone reviewed it, take a look.
- Sigourney Weaver might have ruined a big surprise in the next GHOSTBUSTERS movie. [JoBlo]

It feels like real too! (click to up-size)
Brought to you by: The Spytech Periscope
I think the last time I spoke of one of my brothers not letting me play with their toys was a board game, this time it’s gadget. I can’t say for sure how many times I was the one being spied on in the house (we were all pretty good at it) but whenever I got my hands on this spy tech device…I couldn’t even open the damn thing! Stiff and weird to handle; it really was made for the Soviets, this I am sure. Check out this commercial and see for yourself. Ninja vanish!

You could say the poor man’s Stephen King, but it’s more like the young man’s King. R.L. Stine was the voice of my Jr. High years. Not so much scary were the books as they were quick reads and really the only thing that looked cool at book fairs. They often offered some interesting twist endings, but were always more or less the same things. Boy finds sponge; boy feeds sponge, sponge eats boy’s hamster, hamsters turns out to be his teacher. Something like that anyways.
