louis c.k., funny guy!

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Stand-up comedian Louis C.K. is thinking about his future, he has two kids and one last chance to get it right.  This funny little number I found on his YouTube channel puts all those blurry cell phone videos to shame if you ask me.  I have been a long time fan of Mr. C.K., even going to one of his shows a few weeks back where he managed to offend just about everyone in the room and their families at home.  His short lived sitcom on HBO “Lucky Louie” (not to be confused with this turd) was consistently funny and or shocking.  About the male nudity on the show, Louis C.K. stated on his message board that there would not be female nudity on the show, claiming “Female nudity isn’t funny because you can’t laugh and jerk off at the same time”.  Idol.

Louis C.K.’s new series, “Louie” (I guess he’s not so lucky this time around AMIRIGHT?) will premiere on FX in March of 2010.

A lot of TV news runs through this site; good TV.  You won’t find me writing about reality TV or drek on a network prime time lineup (sorry Julia).  The goods are limited these days let’s face it.  So it hurts to see another show bow out.  The Sopranos will stand the test of time as one of the most popular and highly acclaimed TV shows in history; but today, it’s RESCUE ME that needs the spotlight.  For over 5 years this show has delivered and sadly never achieved its proper place among the greats.

If you got back and watch seasons 1 and 2 of RM, you can argue that it was some of the best dramatic TV of all time.  Talk about shock and awe; then throw in some hilarious or satirical comedy and you have it all.  The fire had to be put out sometime I suppose; and that will be in 2011.  The year falls in line with the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that inspired the show in addition to personal loss to Leary.  The current season wraps the show’s fifth-season Sept. 1 on FX.  Jump for details.
