moonrise

Here is the first trailer for Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, his first live-action movie since 2007.  It’s everything you would come to expect from an Anderson movie, now with Bruce Willis.  His movies are easy to like but probably easier to hate; so if you’re a fan, this looks like a nice return to form for the director.

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore — and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle.

The first trailer for the third (who knew?) Madagascar movie is here, fully titled Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.  The film features the voices of Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer, and Frances McDormand. Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted opens June 8th, 2012.

Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple and of course, King Julien, Maurice and the Penguins are all along for the comedic adventure. Their journey takes them through Europe where they find the perfect cover: a traveling circus, which they reinvent – Madagascar style.

this_must_be_the_placeSean Penn has lost himself in yet another role, this time around he’s a wealthy former rock star, now bored and jaded in his retirement he embarks on a quest to find his father’s persecutor, an ex-Nazi war criminal now hiding out in the U.S.  I definitely would not have guessed that from the poster.

Here is the theatrical trailer for Paolo Sorrentino‘s This Must Be The Place starring Sean Penn, Frances McDormand, Harry Dean Stanton and Judd Hirsch.

This Must Be The Place will open in France on August 2  with no US distribution set just yet.

Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think.  Too much mumbling from Sean Penn?  Glad to see Judd Hirsch as much as I am?

The full theatrical trailer is here for Michael Bay‘s Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, and it’s everything you want from a Transformers movie and John Turturro.  We get a galore of explosions and shots of Optimus Prime kicking ass, it’s glorious.  Frances McDormand makes an appearance, threw me off too.

Can Michael Bay make up for Transformers 2?  Will his first use of 3D make me like 3D?  Check out the HD trailer at Apple or watch below.  Leonard Nimoy!  July 1st baby!

Synopsis:

When a mysterious event from Earth’s past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us. The movie stars Shia LaBeouf, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Dunn, with John Malkovich and Frances McDormand.

The best part of Knocked Up, Role Models and The Hangover, was any scene involving the hilarious Ken Jeong.  Today michaelbay.com tell us that he alongside John Malkovich and Frances McDormand have been cast in Transformers 3.

McDormand will play the National Intelligence Director, while Malkovich will play Shia’s first boss.  The film will be shot in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China, with pre-shoots beginning in about a month.  What racial stereotypes will Bay have up his sleeve this time?  After the jump, the best of Ken from when he co-hosted WWE Raw.  Seriously.
