FINDING NEMO 3D Trailer

nemo

Arguably the best looking Pixar movie, Andrew Stanton‘s Finding Nemo is getting the 3D re-release treatment this year.  It’s will be released September 14th and we have a trailer that will likely be attached to Beauty and the Beast 3D this weekend.

With the amount of detail and depth in Nemo this could be an enjoyable viewing experience.  Saying that, I don’t know how much time was spent on the transfer, and I don’t think every movie that made some wallet years ago has to be released again.  Have you seen any 3D re-releases (Lion King)?  Will you see Nemo?

‘Finding Nemo’ Blu-Ray Teaser Trailer

It was only a matter of time right?  Finding Nemo is coming to Blu-ray and Disney has released an official teaser trailer for the high-definition home release for the Oscar-winner.  There is no release date yet, and this trailer might be very premature as Disney is theatrically re-releasing several of their classic films in 3D, and Nemo is scheduled for September 14, 2012 so the Blu-ray should be out after.  Check out the trailer below:

Disney Has More 3D Re-Releases Coming

The Lion King 3D has surprised a lot of people (myself included) with the success it has been getting at the box office (over $80M domestic).  So Disney noticed too and has announced limited theatrical engagements for four of its classic films for the first time in 3D:

  • Beauty and the Beast – January 13, 2012
  • Finding Nemo – September 14, 2012
  • Monsters, Inc. – January 18, 2013 (the prequel Monsters University opens in theaters in Disney Digital 3D on June 21, 2013)
  • The Little Mermaid – September 13, 2013

These are all good movies, classics really – and yes it would be nice to see them on the big screen again, but with 3D involved I can’t quite say I approve fully.  Blu-ray releases in the mean time will be just fine for me.

  • Beauty and the Beast was the first animated film ever nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.  Box Office = $380.4 million worldwide.
  • Finding Nemo won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Box Office = $867.6 million worldwide.
  • Monsters, Inc. made history with 11 million DVD/VHS copies being sold during its first week of release. It won an Academy Award for Best Song. Box Office = $526.9 million worldwide.
  • The Little Mermaid won two Academy Awards (Best Original Score, Best Song). Box Office =$228.9 million worldwide.

Pixar’s Toy Story 3 has now grossed over $895 million worldwide, surpassing Finding Nemo’s $867.8 million to become the highest grossing Pixar movie in history.  I am surprised but also very happy, as the movie was amazing if you didn’t know [my reaction here].  It’s only been out for 7 weeks (and yes, has some 3D priced tickets to help it out), and it’s already there.  Mental.  For those of you undecided on if you should check it out, please do – in 2D.  Best second sequel of all time?  Well, that sounds like a post for CoF don’t you think?
