Emma Watson (Harry Potter) is very grown up and getting into trouble in this teaser trailer for The Bling Ring from writer/director Sofia Coppola.  It’s based on the true story of a group of teenagers who robbed the homes of some rich and famous celebs (Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan) between October 2008 and August 2009.  They made out with over $3 million.

Harry Potter will be known for many things; it’s the most successful film franchise of all time for starters, and likely when all is said and done will have the most versions of DVDs and Blu-rays you have ever seen.  There is a box set coming next week, the Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection that can be yours for a few hundred dollars.  To celebrate, one devoted fan put together this rather awesome video you can watch below.

The video goes through all eight films in a well put together, edited and musically scored retrospective that should make even the grumpiest of Muggles smile.

The Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection will be available on September 7th. This video was put together by Kees van Dijkhuizen Jr.

The First Trailer For ‘My Week With Marilyn’ Showcases Michelle Williams Amazing Transformation

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

marilyn

Here’s the first trailer for My Week With Marilyn an upcoming drama starring Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, Kenneth Branagh as Sir Laurence Olivier and Eddie Redmayne.

Based on two books by Colin Clark, it depicts the making of the 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl, which starred Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier. The film focuses on the week in which Monroe spent time being escorted around Britain by Clark, after her husband, Arthur Miller, left the country.

As you will see in the trailer, Michelle Williams embodies the icon so well that you already can’t imagine any other actress in the role.  It’s strange, about a week ago I unknowingly was on some Williams kick watching Wendy and Lucy, Shutter Island and  Blue Valentine in a few days of each other.  She’s up there as one of my favorite actresses and this is now definitely on my radar.

The film hits November 4th in limited release, watch the trailer below:

Casting News: Emma Watson, Rhys Ifans, Kevin Costner and More

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

emma-watson Guillermo del Toro has is working on a film production for a live action version of Beauty and the Beast, and Harry Potter star Emma Watson is lined up to star.  This is a fitting project for Del Toro, but I can’t help remember the “modern” take on the story from earlier this year, Beastly.  It wasn’t good was it? [coming soon]

According to The Telegraph director Sam Medes has cast Rhys Ifans in Bond 23, which is finally happening and scheduled to start shooting next month.
Ifans is also playing The Lizard in the new Amazing Spider-Man film currently in production.

Variety is reporting Edward Norton is in negotiations to play the villain in The Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner. The film is being directed by Tony Gilroy and also has Rachel Weisz attached to star.  Not a lot of details about this Matt Damon-less Bourne movie at this time so stay tuned.

costner

Quentin Tarantino is in negotiations to cast Kevin Costner in his next film Django Unchained. The Cast so far includes Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio.  Costner will play a character named Ace Woody, “the sadistic trainer of the male fighting slaves who entertain the white patrons of Candyland as well as the female slaves who are forced to be prostitutes. The club and ranch are owned by Calvin Candie (DiCaprio) and Ace Woody is the one who pits the “mandingo” fighters against one another, and has little qualms about mistreating and even killing the slaves who don’t measure up.” [deadline]

Costner will take the role after playing Pa Kent in the Superman reboot Man Of Steel [see].
