2013 has come and gone and my thoughts on the best movies of last year can be seen here. Now it’s 2014 it’s another year for great movies; here is a list of movies I’m most looking forward to seeing and can only hope they don’t let me down.
I didn’t forget the big ones that may appear on a lot of lists (X-men: Days of Future Past, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America), I might even watch them; they just didn’t end up on my radar.
What are you warming up to see? Shout out in the comments below.
Dumb and Dumber stands the test of time, for some of us, as one of Jim Carrey’s most absurd and hilarious comedies. The prequel Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd was one of the worst pieces of drivel to ever hit theatres. Clearly I’m hoping that Dumb and Dumber To will take after the first film, and the fact that the original cast has returned will go a long way to making my hope a reality.
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their signature roles as Lloyd and Harry in the sequel to the smash hit that took the physical comedy and kicked it in the nuts: Dumb and Dumber To. The original film’s directors, Peter and Bobby Farrelly, take Lloyd and Harry on a road trip to find a child Harry never knew he had and the responsibility neither should ever, ever be given.
The film’s twitter account released the first official image from the film today and I had to take a second look because it really looks like no time has passed at all. They still look as dumb as they did 10 years ago.
Dumb and Dumber To opens November 14th, 2014.
Here is proof that the long-awaited sequel to Dumb and Dumber is finally being made. Jim Carrey posted this first full look at Harry and Lloyd on the set of Dumb and Dumber To, which is actually finally happening. “There are some things that’s we’re going to do in Dumb and Dumber To that make the toilet scene [in the original] seem lame,” Daniels said in an interview. “Pales in comparison and I can’t divulge what, but just that they’ve topped it.”

Dumb and Dumber To will arrive in theaters in 2014.
Kurt Russell certainly knew how to drive in Death Proof, maybe that’s why James Wan’s Fast & Furious 7 is looking to get him behind the wheel. Variety says that Russell is eying a role in Wan’s upcoming seventh installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise. They don’t know the role itself, but it was the same one previously offered to Denzel Washington. The franchise will return to Los Angeles and Tony Jaa is also set to star.
Kathleen Turner is officially in Dumb an Dumber To. She plays Fraida Felcher–the legendary hose-hound from Cranston! #dumbto P

Variety also reports that Kathleen Turner has joined Dumb and Dumber To with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. The last we heard about the plot it was said to center on the pair once again hitting the road in order to find Harry’s illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant. There is also another major cast announcement for the film:
It’s official! Billy in 4C (I just thought he was really quiet) is returning in #DumbTo! Played again by the highly underrated Brady Bluhm.

We last left you with some sad news about the Dumb and Dumber sequel; it had been dropped by Warner Bros. with Bobby and Peter Farrelly looking for others to pick up the movie. Well good news today, Red Granite will be backing the film as well as handling international distribution, and that Universal Pictures has stepped in as a domestic distributor.
The long awaited sequel to the 1994 hit comedy can now get moving. That will be 20 years next year by the way, feel old yet?
Here’s what Peter Farrelly had to Tweet earlier today:
Carrey and Daniels have agreed to reunite for the sequel and The Farrelly’s will also return to the directors’ chair(s). The movie would center on the pair once again hitting the road in order to find Harry’s illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant.
Dumb & Dumber To is having trouble again, this is just becoming a rash that keeps coming back isn’t it? Warner Bros. has decided not to move forward on the sequel. The sequel to Bobby and Peter Farrelly’s 1994 hit still has a chance, however.
The Farrelly’s are expected to shop the project around at other studios, Deadline reports Red Granite is in “first position” to finance the sequel and take on the foreign distribution rights. The report counts five studios eying the domestic rights, including Universal.
Can someone just make this movie already? It’s going to have a low budget they will likely get back in just rentals, but I’m no fancy suit at a studio. Good news from awhile back is Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels have agreed to reunite for the sequel, so let’s hope they don’t get discouraged as well and walk away.
The movie would center on the pair once again hitting the road in order to find Harry’s illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant. Laughing already.
This actually might happen, color me stunned. It’s been 18 years since the 1994 Farrelly Brothers’ comedy Dumb and Dumber was released and people have anxiously been waiting/wishing for a sequel. We are so very close now.
Last we heard Jim Carrey was disappointed at the studios faith in the sequel (not giving it enough money), Jeff Daniels was making the late night TV rounds telling people it was most likely a go, and the Farrelly Brothers themselves had began writing. So here we are with some plot details, which sound just about right if you ask me.
“[Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels] are in a point in their career where they had so much fun the first time that they’re willing to do it. We will make this movie.”
As for plot details:
“The story revolves around the fact that one of them may have sired a child. They want to go and find the child because he’s having a kidney problem and he wants to ask him for one of his kidneys.”
According to IGN, the brothers are looking for an autumn 2013 release, and they have confirmed:
“I can tell you that there is no growth out of either one of them.”
Well thank God for that.
Back in October, we told you Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were both ready for a sequel to Dumb and Dumber called Dumb and Dumber To. Now we have the sad news to report that according to ETonline Carrey has left the project after being “frustrated” by the lack of enthusiasm on the part of Warner Bros. “I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer,” Carrey said, “after all it’s implied in the title.”
Well this sucks, if any Jim Carrey movie deserved a proper sequel it’s Dumb and Dumber. The cast was back and original writer-directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly were going to produce and direct the sequel. I can’t imagine it going anywhere now, maybe WB will have a change of heart and actually care about making money.
Jim Carrey can soon be seen alongside Steve Carell in the magician comedy Burt Wonderstone, which opens in 2013.
