Images And Synopsis For New Winnie The Pooh Movie

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Walt Disney is bringing a brand new Winnie the Pooh film to screens for the first time in 35 years next year, in glorious 2D.  We have some first images and the official synopsis below.  Fans of Pooh will sure to be excited for this one, the team effort that includes Stephen J. Anderson (Meet the Robinsons) and Don Hall (story for The Princess and the Frog) are working off five short stories by A.A. Milne.  Tony Award-winning songwriter Bobby Lopez will be providing seven new songs.  My favorite Pooh character?  Eeyore, who doesn’t love Eeyore?!

Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with Winnie the Pooh, the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney animation in more than 35 years. With the charm, wit and whimsy of the original featurettes, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical “bear of very little brain” and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail.   “Well a tail is either there or it isn’t there,” said Pooh. “And yours isn’t… there.”  Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be a very busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some hunny. Inspired by five stories from A.A. Milne’s books in Disney’s classic, hand-drawn art style, “Winnie the Pooh” hits theaters July 15, 2011.

Iron Man 3 Arrives May 3, 2013

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Iron Man 3Walt Disney Pictures has set the release date for Iron Man 3 for May 3, 2013.  I have yet to see the sequel; something tells me I won’t like it – it sounds like one long commercial for the upcoming Avengers movie.  Iron Man 3 would come out almost one year after The Avengers, which is slated for May 4, 2012.

It’s said all the actors who signed on for Iron Man 2, signed multi-picture deals so Marvel and Disney can choose who they want to bring back.  The biggest question is whether Jon Favreau will direct.  Favreau has already said that if he returns, he would like The Mandarin to be Iron Man 3′s villain. tim allen is almost forgiven

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Tim Allen is Douglas Fir in the new Disney movie Arbor Daze…not really.  Funny or Die has become one of the top destinations where TV and movie stars can go to make fun of themselves. Tim Allen spoofs himself and Disney films in general with this trailer that may seem all too familiar.  My favorite FOD video?  Christopher Lloyd as scary Willy Wonka murdering teenagers, right here.

Johnny Depp as Carrot Top the Mad Hatter might just be worth watching – as for the rest of the very Burton touched film…who knows.  Go to the looking glass March 5th 2010.

lazy prince of persia posters

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

I am proud to say that I have played and mastered all the Prince of Perisa Games (starting  on next gen consoles), and I’m proud because those are some seriously kick ass games.  So what is Hollywood to do?  Ruin it of course.  News of the POP movie was inevitable but still hurt, and now they released posters to go with it.  Remember the slick Egyptian like title font in the games and on the covers themselves that you know, gave you that sense of where you are and what game you are playing? (see here and here)  Well bold Helvetica should help you forget about that.  I find it borderline offensive that they (Disney) ‘Americanized’ the font to please more people (idiots).  The artist couldn’t even try to “borrow” the font from the games?  This whole fucken article has been one big question.  Why is this happening?  The shit hits the fan May 28th 2010.

I guess "Fight the Future" would have been too close to The X-Files tagline.

princess and the frog

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Why would I post this? Well, I watched the trailer and respect it. Disney had had plenty of trouble over the past decade or so, and I can’t say I approve of their slave children on the Disney Channel making music and clothes for our wee ones.

The trailer works to remind us of the better days when they could release a movie that was hand drawn and still invoke some form of emotion without the name of Pixar. If you love cartoons and wish things were “like they used to be” well, say F U to the next 3D gimmick and say hello to the old ideology of less is more.

The full trailer for The Princess and the Frog will be attached to Pixar’s Up, which hits theaters later this month. Set in the legendary birthplace of jazz – New Orleans, The Princess and the Frog will introduce the newest Disney princess, Tiana, a young African-American girl living amid the charming elegance and grandeur of the fabled French Quarter. From the heart of Louisiana’s mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells and Cajun charm at every turn.

Directed by and based on an original story written by Disney’s acclaimed filmmaking duo John Musker & Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules). Scored and music written by Oscar-winning songwriter/composer and New Orleans native Randy Newman (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc.).

The Princess and the Frog hits theaters with a limited run in New York and LA starting on November 25th, followed by a wide release on December 11th.
