Whether it was the 99 cent bargain bin VHS tapes at Superstore, or the annual TBS marathon, I have been a huge fan of the James Bond franchise since I was of a young age. Needless to say, when Skyfall was announced I was beyond excited. Daniel Craig is back for round 3, officially having him surpass Timothy Dalton, and eclipse George Lazenby in the 007 mythology.
While Casino Royale breathed new life into the franchise, Quantum of Solace seemed to take it away. With that being said, Skyfall doesn’t seem to be getting the press that I, and many fellow Bond fans, feel it deserves. Finding any news requires a lot of Google searches, and cross referencing (yes a bit of an exaggeration).
With that long winded description out of the way, consider this your one stop shop for all things Skyfall. As news and releases become available, we will be posting them. This page will be updated frequently. So without further ado..

Daniel Craig emerged from the ocean for our first look at him in Casino Royale, this time for Skyfall, it’s a from behind shot in a swimming pool. I don’t want to say I know a lot about production, but is this really the best EON Productions could have done? Also, buy some new trunks already sir.
Sam Mendes is directing Skyfall with Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dench, Albert Finney, Berenice Malohe and Naomie Harris.
Release dates are set for Europe on October 26th and North America on November 9th. [Image: Bond's Facebook]

2012 is the 50th anniversary of the Bond film series, so there’s going to be a lot going on I’m sure. One thing they did was turn 007.com into the Skyfall website. There is a short video (posted below) to welcome you that shows off some credit sequence making for the film.
Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
Skyfall is shooting now with director Sam Mendes and the cast of Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dench, Albert Finney, Berenice Malohe and Naomie Harris. The 23rd Bond film will be released on November 9th. Until then stay on the official facebook page and 007.com for more.

Well for those who have seen some of my posts around the City of Films, I am a huge James Bond fan. And of course I wanted to quickly share the news that Bond 23 has a title. And what is that title? Skyfall.
My initial thought was that this doesn’t sound like a typical Bond title. But if you dig back far enough you will find single word titles of such great films as: Goldfinger, Thunderball, etc. I have a feeling it will grow on me.
Either way, I am excited this project is moving forward. Daniel Craig and Judi Dench will reprise their roles from the previous 2 films. Sam Mendes will be directing, and the addition of Javier Bardem as the villain will be a most excellent casting choice.
Skyfall hits theaters November 9, 2012.
UPDATE: Sony Pictures held a press conference today and announced many details on the 23rd James Bond film, which we now know is titled SKYFALL. Here are some other details via Deadline.
- In regards to the title, Barbara Broccoli says, “It has emotional context which will be revealed in the film.”
- The official James Bond twitter, @007, tweeted the logline: “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
- The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, and Ben Whishaw.
- Shooting on Skyfall began today.
- Berenice Marlohe is the new Bond girl.

Here is the new international trailer for David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo [see all of our coverage]. Maybe a handful of movies a year come out where you just know it’s going to be something special, this dark tale is one of those I’m sure of it. We will find out for sure December 21st.
There is also a pretty cool ‘making of’ video below set to a musical score from the film from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (check out the great soundtrack to The Social Network. They make a metallic poster for the movie, an interesting way to tease the soundtrack I guess.
Watch them both below:

If it wasn’t clear enough before, trust me when I say The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has the makings to be the best movie of the year. In the last City of Films Show [here] we all agreed that it was definitely on our radar as a must see this fall/holiday season, in a moment you will see why.
David Fincher (Fight Club, The Social Network) and Sony deserve a lot of praise for being so true to the material and holding onto that hard R rating, the feel bad movie of Christmas is for adults, the way it was meant to be. Much of the success of course will be attributed to screenwriter Steven Zaillian, who’s work you have likely seen - American Gangster, Gangs of New York, Schindler’s List to name a few. And yes, Trent Reznor is back (heard in The Social Network) for another great soundtrack.
They have released an extended trailer – three minutes and forty five seconds which is worth watching, for me it marks the last trailer for the film I will watch (I want to go as fresh as I can). The film stars Rooney Mara stars as Lisbeth Salander, a young hacker with a dark secret who investigates the Vanger family with disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig).
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and to read a synopsis. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo opens December 21.

It’s a slow news day, can you tell? Yesterday we shows you the 25 Greatest Unscripted Scenes in Film, today we have 25 Actors Before They Were Famous. I didn’t know Daniel Craig was in A Kid in King Arthur’s Court, I did however know that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was on Roseanne because I’ve watched the series enough times. Leonardo DiCaprio was on an episode in a non speaking role too [see].

Here is the new trailer for Dream House directed by Jim Sheridan (In the Name of the Father) starring Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz. In the movie, a family moves into a new home only to discover that a brutal killing took place in the residence years before.
You can see from the trailer what happens next, which is odd. They reveal a whole lot it seems, unless they are pulling out another swerve in the last few minutes of the film. Thrillers that have come out over the last decade seem to have a lot of style to them, but the story is a mess and wraps up with no conclusive ending like no one bothered to write it. Let’s hope with this stellar cast they have something to say.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. Dream House opens later this year on September 30th.

A new full length trailer has been released for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson’s The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn. It’s looking good; motion capture might actually pay off with this film. The action looks amazing and should be a great time at the movies this holiday season.
The film stars Jamie Bell as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig as the nefarious Red Rackham. Bell and Craig are joined by an international cast that includes Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook.
The film comes out on December 23rd 2011. Watch the new trailer below.
