citystrip2

The City Strip finally takes a stand against big time Hollywood writers!  Thank us later when Happy Madison gets some real talent behind the keyboard…ah hell, you pay with peanuts you get chimps.

Welcome to another week here in the city, drinks at the bar and don’t forget tipping is not a city in China.  The Simpsons celebrated 500 episodes last night and we will be celebrating 100 strips in a couple months.  What do they have to do with each other?  Nothing, we just like to set the bar impossibly high.  NEW STRIP HERE.

stripHere we are with another fantastic edition of The City Strip, #90 to be precise.  It’s based on a true story, but Kevin and I decided that it’s best to leave the story until The City of Films Show series 2.

Series 2 you say?  Yes, we did series 1 and we will eventually do another series when the time is right.

For now enjoy the latest City Strip and “Like” it at the bottom of the comic, share on the Internets and have a nice day.

Here we are, City Strip #89, it’s a classic I must say.  We all love it when the suits get together in a room and come up with a Hollywood idea.  I don’t think any of you would put this one past them now would you?  Enjoy the new comic, tell your friends and share.  It’s the nice thing to do.

Our beloved comic creator Kevin has been sick for awhile now, he’s told me he is better which is good.  The guy manged to make a comic for us this week, and it’s really great if you ask me.  You didn’t ask me, so go see for yourself over here.

If you missed it, Ryan started off our week last night with a splendid “What We Know” article about the upcoming James Bond film Skyfall.  Check out his post here.

The City Strip #87 – Breaking News Feed

citystripgangWelcome to another week here in the City of Films.  Issue #87 of the City Strip is over here for your viewing pleasure.  In case you still missed it, during Kevin’s break over the holidays he put together this great look at Easter eggs that could be seen in the City Strip.

It doesn’t cover every single one, but it’s a good cheat sheet if you want to see most of them without trying.  Go back and look at each comic anyways, Monday’s should be neglected.

citystrip

The City Strip is back!  Comic # 85 is good to go on our main Strip page, so do check it out.  This is going to be a very big year for the webcomic as we look forward to celebrating 100 comics later this year.  Six seasons and a movie?  Sure why not.  Kevin went AWOL for a month, but he came back after seeing what Ryan was up to in his absence.  As a gift around the holidays he also gave us this special look at some Easter eggs he’s placed in his work.

We welcome you back to The City Strip, let’s get on with it.

City-Strip-Easter-Egg-Header

An Easter egg is an intentional message or in-joke hidden within movies, comics, books, video games, etc. I love adding Easter eggs to The City Strip and this is my first chance to share them all with you. Some you may have noticed right away, others you may have not.

So sit back, enjoy and prepare to be immersed in The City Strip…as you’ve never seen it before! - Kevin

kevinLet’s put it all on the table shall we? Kevin Fraser, our comic artist has taken a leave of absence from the City Strip for the rest of the year. OK fair enough, he works hard (so I’m told).  Yet it quickly came to our attention this past weekend that Monday’s still exist with or without the City Strip…messed up right?

So we went into panic mode; Ryan and I quickly starting calling, emailing, skyping…everything short sending a flare signal to get Kevin to come back. Nothing. He’s gone, and not returning until January 2012.

Well guess what? You think we don’t got this? We so got this. Ladies and gentlemen…Ryan has put his talents to the test and created a brand new City Strip! Check it out here…and if for some reason you have feelings of deja vu when reading it…it’s because of the recent time shift and Earth’s axis and such. Yes, that will do.  Enjoy!

See you in 2012!

It’s hard to remember the City Strip when all we had were black and white colors to play with, those were the days.  Now so much has changed; you got your blues and greens, it’s a crazy world innit?

That wraps up another year of the City Strip, 84 comics so far!  We hope to celebrate #100 with you all next year so do stick around.  Kevin has agreed to take some time off to kick his habits and return to the drawing board with all new comics early next year.

The City of Films will continue through the year of course, and with the final month nearly upon us we are going to make sure we go out with a bang.  For now enjoy the NEW CITY STRIP COMIC.
