It’s a Slow News Day, So Here are Updates for MRS. DOUBTFIRE 2 and BEVERLY HILLS COP 4

Thursday, April 17th, 2014

A sequel to the 1993 box office hit Mrs. Doubtfire has been talked about for over a decade, so what’s the latest you and or your mom might be asking?  Well, after Robin Williams reportedly rejected a script in 2006, and the project has remained dead, the actor noted in a recent interview, “They kept trying and it doesn’t work… because at the end of the first one they reveal who [Mrs. Doubtfire] is.”

Fast forward a few years and David Berenbaum (Elf) may have found a way to make it work, because The Wrap reports Fox 2000 has revived Mrs. Doubtfire 2 with a script by Berenbaum. Williams is on board and Chris Columbus will return to direct.  The report does not specify where Mrs. Doubtfire 2 will pick up or who else will return; but we know Mara Wilson won’t be:

Anyone out there looking forward to Mrs. Doubtfire 2?

In other sequel news, Beverly Hills Cop 4 may begin filming this summer.  During an interview with Bloomberg, Jerry Bruckheimer said that they are still finishing the script for Beverly Hills Cop 4 with tentative plans to shoot in a few months.

We’re in the process of getting the script finished. Paramount is very excited about making it, Eddie is very excited, Brett Ratner is excited about doing it, so I think we’re moving forward. Hopefully we’ll start end of summer, beginning of fall and get rolling on it. We’re going to take Eddie back to Detroit – he’s going to be in Beverly Hills and we take him to Detroit. So we’re going to have some fun with him, he’s really excited about doing it.”

Does anyone feel a lot older after this news?

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

Harry Potter will be known for many things; it’s the most successful film franchise of all time for starters, and likely when all is said and done will have the most versions of DVDs and Blu-rays you have ever seen.  There is a box set coming next week, the Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection that can be yours for a few hundred dollars.  To celebrate, one devoted fan put together this rather awesome video you can watch below.

The video goes through all eight films in a well put together, edited and musically scored retrospective that should make even the grumpiest of Muggles smile.

The Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection will be available on September 7th. This video was put together by Kees van Dijkhuizen Jr.
