They’re back! The retired gang from Red return in Red 2 from directer by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest). This time around CIA operative Bruce Willis is up against the likes of Helen Mirren when MI6 greenlights his assassination as Interpol’s “Most Wanted.” Mary-Louise Parker and John Malkovich have returned and joining the sequel will be Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung Hun Lee and the great Anthony Hopkins.
Red 2 opens August 2, 2013, watch the trailer after the jump below.
In RED 2, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.
We have two trailers for Broken City for you to watch below, the Allen Hughes (The Book of Eli) directed thriller stars Mark Wahlberg
as a private detective who is hired to identify the lover of a powerful politician’s (Russell Crowe) wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones).
It will be nice to see these two actors come to blows; if there is a phone in the room though, my money is on Crowe. The film also stars Jeffrey Wright.
Broken City opens on January 18th.
In a broken city rife with injustice, ex-cop Billy Taggart (Mark Wahlberg) seeks redemption–and revenge–after being double-crossed and then framed
by its most powerful figure, the mayor (Russell Crowe). Billy’s relentless pursuit of justice, matched only by his streetwise toughness, makes him an
unstoppable force–and the mayor’s worst nightmare.
Watch the first trailer for director Steven Soderbergh’s thriller Side Effects below, the film stars Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum as a successful New York couple whose world unravels when a new drug prescribed by Emily’s psychiatrist (Jude Law) – intended to treat anxiety – has unexpected side effects.
Mara once again showcases a strong performance here; if you’re like me then she probably left quite an impression on you after watching The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last year. With Steven Soderbergh back for another thriller (Contagion was fantastic), this movie has a lot going for it.
Side Effects opens on February 8th, find the trailer here.
New Line Cinema has released the first trailer for their upcoming rock and roll movie Rock of Ages starring Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Ackerman, Mary J. Blige, Bryan Cranston, Alec Baldwin and Tom Cruise. I’m not a fan of the music, but I like when Tom Cruise isn’t playing someone totally out of character (see Magnolia). Also, check out Baldwins wig, it’s a classic.
Rock of Ages tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. Their rock ‘n’ roll romance is told through the heart-pounding hits of Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Whitesnake, and more.
The movie opens June 1, 2012. Watch the first trailer below:
