cold-lightsThe first trailer for Cold Light of Day is below to watch, it’s nothing to get too excited about.  What’s interesting is the poster on the left, what’s going on with Sigourney Weaver?  She’s clearly been transformed into a Terminator out to destroy some folks on vacation.

The actual plot is as follows: Will Shaw (Henry Cavill) goes to Spain for a week long sailing vacation with his family but his whole world turns upside down when the family is kidnapped by intelligence agents hell-bent on recovering a mysterious briefcase and Will suddenly finds himself on the run.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer, Cold Light of Day opens April 6th.

It's called acting people...

There have been rumblings of a Fantastic Four reboot for a few years now, we had all hoped that it would all go away if we ignored it, no avail.  20th Century Fox seems to have faith in newcomer Josh Tank who is about to release his movie Chronicle next month for them [see trailer]  He is the frontrunner to direct the reboot that once had Adrien Brody, Amber Heard, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Bruce Willis in the cast, so he’s got his work cut out for him.

In sadder news, Rob Schneider is going to work again.  Sony Pictures plans to release on Grown Ups 2 on July 12, 2013. The first movie is Adam Sandler’s highest grossing movie of his career ($271 million worldwide). Co-stars Kevin James, Chris Rock, Schneider, and David Spade will likely return.  This would be Sandler’s first sequel surprisingly, the original film’s writer, Fred Wolf, is in negotiations to write the script that would deal with one of five friends dealing with fatherhood.

moonrise

Here is the first trailer for Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, his first live-action movie since 2007.  It’s everything you would come to expect from an Anderson movie, now with Bruce Willis.  His movies are easy to like but probably easier to hate; so if you’re a fan, this looks like a nice return to form for the director.

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore — and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle.

expendables2

It’s almost been 9 years since Arnold Schwarzenegger fired a gun (Terminator 3), but he’s back, along with all his playground buddies in the first trailer for The Expendables 2.  There is no plot in here, just what some may call the best action movie roster of all time: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth, Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The film will get a August 17 release next year, in the mean time watch the teaser below and there’s a synopsis too if you care:

GI-Joe

The first trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation already looks better than the first movie; I give credit to Dwayne Johnson who also gave some much needed fresh air to the Fast and Furious franchise earlier this year.  There is a story here this time; the shot of COBRA taking over the White House is mental.

The film also stars Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, and Bruce Willis (for some reason).

G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens June 29th, 2012.  Here’s the trailer:

catch44We have a look at the suspense thriller Catch .44 with Bruce Willis, Malin Akerman, and Forest Whitaker.  The film will get a limited release December 9th and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on December 20.

Forest Whitaker, Bruce Willis and Malin Akerman lead an all-star cast in this suspense thriller where everyone has an agenda and a Magnum to back it up! For Tes (Akerman) and her two cohorts Kara (Nikki Reed) and Tara (Deborah Ann Woll), the job sounded simple enough: intercept a double-cross drug shipment for their crime boss Mel (Willis) at an isolated diner. But when an unstoppable chain of events unfolds, everyone soon realizes no one is who they seem and the job may be something other than eliminating the competition. What started as simple instructions has now turned into a deadly cat-and-mouse game – with large guns pointed at everyone.

Die Hard 5 Has A Release Date And Silly Title

diehard

So I guess Die Hard 5 is happening, a release date of February 14th 2013 has been set with Bruce Willis to reprise his iconic role as John McClane who this time is on a international action adventure to Russia with his son, where the two characters get involved in a conflict with local forces.  So DH4 he had a daughter and now he has a son.  Die Hard 6 is probably going to have him saving his 1st cousins twice removed at this rate.  It gets better:

A Good Day to Die Hard.  That is the title.  Director John Moore (Max Payne) is set to direct the film [mtv].  I certainly hope they have Mary Elizabeth Winstead show up in some capacity, she’s easy on the eyes.

So for no reason, watch the Die Hard Angry Video Game Nerd video below:

casting

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have been officially confirmed for The Expendables 2. Deadline reports that the two are set to take on “substantial” roles opposite Sylvester Stallone who is also returning.  Still no confirmed word that Jean Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris are joining, so keep dreaming folks.  Simon West is directing the sequel with filming to begin in October; original cast members Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews are expected to return.

Anthony Hopkins returns to the serial killer genre once again with Solace says Variety. He will play a former doctor with psychic abilities who works for the FBI and gets drawn into a serial killer case.  No director yet, Sean Bailey and Ted Griffin wrote the first draft of the script, which was then rewritten by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man).

Tucker will play “Danny, Cooper’s spirited friend who lives in a mental hospital. He escapes on several occasions to visit the troubled protag, as the duo have a special understanding of each other”.

Die Hard 5 Has a Director, Is Happening

Monday, February 14th, 2011

die hardDeadline reports that five time DGA nominated commercials director Noam Murro (Smart People) has been hired to direct Die Hard 5. Fox was impressed with the commercials he shot for Microsoft’s Halo [watch below]. The studio has yet to officially sign Bruce Willis, but that shouldn’t be an issue as apparently, it’s not the studio that’s currently looking at directors to take on Die Hard 5, but Willis himself.

He said before that he plans to do two more Die Hard films before hanging up the series for good.  So do we really want another Die Hard?  Sound off in the comments below. (more…)
