Billy Crystal is set to star in a new television series in about two comics in a generational clash, the other comedian in question will be played by Josh Gad (Olaf in Frozen, Book of Mormon). The series is called The Comedians and will air on the FX network next year with a 13 episode order reports huffingtonpost.com.
Comedians is adapted from a Swedish show of the same name; “Crystal plays a superstar veteran comedian who is reluctantly paired with Gad, an edgier up-and-coming star, in an unfiltered, behind-the-scenes look at a late night sketch comedy show where generations collide”. The pilot episode was directed by Larry Charles who has directed many a great Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes as well as features like Borat and Religulous.
Any chance to remind people of the sadly underrated gem that is Mr. Saturday Night is fine by me. The synopsis of The Comedians sounds like a great match with Mr. Saturday Night where Crystal played an old comedian (and young in flashbacks) with some legendary one liners. Now I know what I’ll be watching this weekend.
FYI: Crystal’s last role in a regular TV series was on the 1970s ABC sitcom Soap (1977-1981), Crystal was a regular cast member on SNL for the show’s 1984-1985 season.
Parental Guidance looks like a very family friendly comedy, it’s a shame because with Billy Crystal it could have been a lot more I think. The film stars Crystal and Bette Midler as two grandparents who try to handle their three grandchildren with old school methods for 21st century problems. There are many one-liners in here and an inevitable shot to the testicles, so be warned you might not laugh at all.

Monsters Inc. 3D may not have existed if not for the success of the 3D re-release of The Lion King, thanks Disney. Finding Nemo 3D is coming out soon, so don’t expect this double dip strategy to go away any time soon. Saying that, Monsters Inc. is a favorite of mine on the list of Pixar movies, I’ll be happy to watch it at home again.
Monsters Inc. 3D opens on December 19th, watch the trailer below:
“Monsters, Inc.” is set in Monstropolis, a thriving company town where monsters of all shapes and sizes reside. Lovable Sulley (John Goodman) and his wisecracking best friend Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) are the top scare team at Monsters, Inc., the largest scream-processing factory. The main power source in the monster world is the collected screams of human children–and at Monsters, Inc., an elite team of scarers is responsible for gathering those precious natural resources.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released the trailer for the 84th Academy Awards with Funny Or Die, and it couldn’t die quicker. Disney has released another trailer for The Muppets, I don’t think anyone has a problem with how much this movie is promoting itself, I hope it pays off. The trailer has fart shoes, do I need to tell you more? Watch it just to see The Mooppets, they look like trouble.

Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. sequel, is gaining ground as the title of the film was revealed CinemaCon. Monsters University will be the sequel and that Billy Crystal and John Goodman will reprise their roles, as monsters Sully and Mike Wazowski. The film will hit screens in 2012.
Sources say the movie is reportedly a prequel following Mike and Sulley during their tenure at the University of Fear, where they start off as enemies and then become friends. This will be Pixar’s fourteenth film, and of course it will be in 3D. Let’s watch some bloopers:
