Batman 3

Revisit our picks!

Teddy Bear
Mark Wahlberg
is reportedly considering the lead role in Teddy Bear, the feature directorial debut of Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad).  The R-rated comedy has Wahlberg as a 33-year-old man whose childhood teddy bear comes to life and — “likes to party, pick up women, smoke pot, and play video games.”  MacFarlane will voice the teddy bear and wrote the film. lizardSpider-Man
It’s looking like The Lizard will be the villain in Marc Webb’s upcoming Spider-Man rebootRhys Ifans is playing the villain in the film, which stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spidey and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.

The untitled Spider-Man reboot is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012.  The budget is rumored to be around $80 million.  The film will also reportedly be set in high school and be “gritty” and “contemporary”.   Here’s a bio for Lizard from Marvel. [source]

Batman 3
Tom Hardy has been cast in Batman 3 (title for now) by his Inception director Christopher Nolan for a lead role.  Insiders are keeping the role secret and won’t even say if he’s up for a villain role, but it’s likely.  Anyone doubt Hardy as a lead in anything?  Check out Bronson, amazing performance.

Some Not So Obvious Batman 3 News

Christopher NolanAs if the madness hadn’t started already during the final credits of The Dark Knight, the words coming from director Christopher Nolan can finally lay some rumors to rest and we can start getting facts about the next Batman installment.

We’ve assumed that Christopher Nolan is to direct the third Batman, even if there has been no official statement made by him or the studio…until now. Nolan recently told Empire that it is safe to assume he’s directing.

It’s becoming inevitable, I’ll put it that way…I feel myself falling into it, I guess. And getting it all figured out and I’m pretty excited about what we’re doing so… If I haven’t announced it, I think that people probably all know at this point that I’m doing it.

Asked if “we can safely assume you’re directing,” Nolan replied “I think you can at this point, yes.” Christopher Nolan confirmed he will be back to direct, and is currently revising a draft of the screenplay written by co-writer Jonathan Nolan.  Nolan can pretty much do anything at WB now after making The Dark Knight and Inception – mo money, mo movies I always say.  I don’t.

Batman 3

Now that Inception is behind him, Christopher Nolan can now focus on what might be his most difficult film to date; his final act in the Batman Trilogy. The fan expectations I fear will never be met and commercially, it will be surprising if lightning can be captured once again. No story details have been released whatsoever, so obviously the rumor mill is going mad with ideas and suggestions.

Where can he take the next film as a director? How will it all end? We may not know the answers, but we can certainly speculate with everyone. Today we will do just that with a co-op venture from The Mayor and The District Attorney. We have each selected our choices for villains and the actors we feel would most suit the role. Please leave your own feedback in the comments and we can all debate and speculate…it’s all we have. See our picks.

You know it's true.

Last time we spoke, DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson denied that Christopher Nolan was overseeing the new Superman film.  A house of lies.

Nolan is overseeing Superman for WB as David Goyer writes the script based on a story by Nolan and Goyer. We know this because Nolan is talking about it. The director promises good things for the next Superman, and his wife, producer Emma Thomas, denies a few other recent rumors.  Meanwhile, Jonathan Nolan is ‘now doing the hard work’ on a script for Batman 3, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and Goyer. I just got chills.

The LA Times has quotes from Nolan and Thomas about Superman:

It’s very exciting, we have a fantastic story. And we feel we can do it right. We know the milieu, if you will, we know the genre and how to get it done right…[it] is a way of approaching the story I’ve never seen before that makes it incredibly exciting. I wanted to get Emma and I involved in shepherding the project right away and getting it to the studio and getting it going in an exciting way. But wait, there’s more!

batman 3 announcement coming in january

batman

Film School Rejects picked up a story from Batman-on-Film regarding a possible Batman 3 announcement early next year. The half baked rumors only seem to work on some people, so I will sum it up: Right now, there’s no third movie.  The assumption has been for a while that Christopher Nolan would return to possibly wrap up the series with complete control over his third installment (that’s some Orson Welles shit right there).

So the major announcement?  Odds are if Nolan weren’t directing it he wouldn’t be a part of the announcement.  So my guess is that he is directing and will say that he and his brother are working on the story.   Meanwhile we have Inception to look forward to.  That is sure to put a smile on your face!  See what I did there?  Joker.

no thank you

no thank you.

Brought to you by: Orbitz

A soft drink that had small edible balls floating in it.  Introduced around 1996 and quickly disappeared due to small edible balls floating in it poor sales.  The small balls remained suspended with assistance from an ingredient known as gellan gum.  The gellan gum provided a support matrix – something like a microscopic spider web.

You know when you are camping or even just drinking outside and you set your cup down, the cup of course filled with a proper soft drink such as Dr. Pepper or Iron-Bru?  Well, it often happens that when you take your next gulp from said drink, you spit it out due to the feeling that a floaty (most likely nothing, but sometimes a bug) was in your cup.  Gross hey?  Yeah…way to package that Orbitz.

comic-con: other views

comicconOut of most of the event at Comic-con this year, I kept going back to three major developments.  A Nightmare on Elm Street, now don’t get me wrong – I don’t think this reboot/remake/re-imagination was necessary, but from what I have heard from production excerpts, they seem to be doing things right.  Now I saw what they did with Friday The 13th first hand opening weekend; and I was pissed.  Don’t do it to me again Bay.  Where the Wild Things Are, this is looking to be a best movie of the year contender, everything I want from a movie.  This flick is going to touch me all over I just know it.  And finally…leave it to crazy Gary Oldman to open his mouth and potentially give out some Batman 3 news that he was not supposed to.
