The Dark Knight Rises is the third and final installment in the Christopher Nolan’s Batman film series – Batman Begins (2005) The Dark Knight (2008) The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Catch up on all our The Dark Knight Rises news here. We showed you the poster [see]. The film is scheduled for release on July 20, 2012 in glorious 2D and IMAX.
Watch the trailer below [2 copies in case we lose one], the movie is a year away so people shouldn’t expect too many reveals right now, but the final few seconds of this trailer actually frightened me [why].

Filming began yesterday for what will (according to me anyways) be the best movie of all time. We now have learned that the film’s viral campaign has started. For those who were remember or took part in the alternate-reality game (ARG) for The Dark Knight, you will remember just how big and exciting it was.
The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20, 2012 and today, the official website (thedarkknightrises.com) launched. Here is what I can tell you now, the audio on the website is obviously some weird chant but every time someone tweets the hashtag #thefirerises, a new image appears on this site. The tiny image is your Twitter profile pic, but they’re being arranged in a way as to show a larger image.
Some nerds went ahead and ruined the fun by digging through the source code and uncovered the image being built was the first image of Tom Hardy as Bane. [image via Batman-News]

To hell with it, we’ve decided to go super optimistic with The Dark Knight Rises and have compiled a list of reasons why you should too. If The Dark Knight was the Empire Strikes Back of sequels, then TDKR is a combination of Return of the King, Last Crusade, Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Toy Story 3 and Goldfinger! How’s that for hype? July 20th, 2012 will go down in history as the day the greatest movie ever made was released and here’s why in no particular order: (more…)

Now that Inception is behind him, Christopher Nolan can now focus on what might be his most difficult film to date; his final act in the Batman Trilogy. The fan expectations I fear will never be met and commercially, it will be surprising if lightning can be captured once again. No story details have been released whatsoever, so obviously the rumor mill is going mad with ideas and suggestions.
Where can he take the next film as a director? How will it all end? We may not know the answers, but we can certainly speculate with everyone. Today we will do just that with a co-op venture from The Mayor and The District Attorney. We have each selected our choices for villains and the actors we feel would most suit the role. Please leave your own feedback in the comments and we can all debate and speculate…it’s all we have. See our picks.
