CoF Weekend Preview: THE MASTER Is Playing Somewhere

Welcome to The CoF Weekend Preview, here is a look at what’s opening this weekend. You might have noticed a few goodies this week like our Fall & Holiday Movie Guide, Kevin’s The Review and if you’re hanging around on weekends I’ll be dropping another Sunday Soundtrack.

The Master – RT (86%) – Trailer – CoF
The Master expands on September 21st but will be playing in a few places this weekend so I figured I would give it the top spot as an excuse to look at Joaquin Phoenix’s face up there. Look at it, he’s just so happy to be taking pictures. I wish I loved anything as much as he loves taking pictures. Oh yes, this movie is getting rave reviews (obviously) and I’ll post a review once I see it (twice).
Finding Nemo 3D – RT (99%) – Trailer
This movie broke records at the box office as well as on home video. So who’s going to go see this again and in 3D? (Ed. Note: As I typed that, I was making a “I don’t get it” face.)
Resident Evil: Retribution – RT (22%) – Trailer

Analysis: Paul Thomas Anderson is one of our best directors; his resume includes Hard Eight, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love and one of my favorite movies of all time, There Will Be Blood. Stars: John C. Reilly, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Sarah SilvermanAnalysis: Why hasn’t this idea been done already? It has so much potential with the inside jokes and nostalgia that we all want to see, or it won’t not do it enough so it needs a sequel. Let’s just hope they reference Iron Tank, best game ever.
