The Ricky Gervais Show

Ricky Gervais was kind enough to update us on the current state of his ongoing and future projects on his blog.  Here is a breakdown and some other additions that we have picked up on over the past few months, so it’s all here!

The Ricky Gervais Show, a delightful bonus for those who listened to the podcasts is an animated program on HBO.  Well sad news now, Ricky says there won’t be a fourth series of the show saying “39 episodes is more than I’ve ever done for any other project (Yes. I know that’s pathetic but trust me.) and I don’t want to push my luck.”

I couldn’t agree more really, it had a great run and should stop now before they start reaching for material.  It’s great for anyone by the way, not just podcast listeners.  You will enjoy the animation and Ricky’s laugh I’m telling you.

Ricky Gervais Teams With ‘Dexter’ Producer For ‘Afterlife’

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

rickyRicky Gervais is teaming up with former Dexter producer, Clyde Phillips, for a new show called Afterlife, “about an atheist who dies and goes to heaven” says Entertainment Weekly.  They are writing the pilot episode now and plan to film in 2012.

Ricky talked about it on his blog saying: Dexter has consistently been my favourite show of the last 5 years. When I first saw Clyde’s name all over it I knew I had to work with him one day. I found out he was also a fan of my work and we became friends on email and through short conversations on various red carpets. We finally started working on an idea this year and we really hit it off. I am so exited about this project.

Gervais is currently working with Stephen Merchant on the Warwick Davis-starring comedy series Life’s Too Short, which will air this fall.  Watch the teaser here.
