The first official image from A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas has arrived online today and it’s everything you would expect. I’m the fan of the series and expect the Christmas movie to bring the laughs this holiday season, they haven’t disappointed yet. Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) are dressed as nutcrackers and of course there’s Neil Patrick Harris – alive and well. The film arrives in theaters on November 4th, 2011.

Synopsis: After years of growing apart, Harold Lee and Kumar Patel have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar’s door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold’s house ends with the “high grade” contents — and Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree — going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven — and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high.

According to Gunnar Hansen ( the original Leatherface), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D will start off right where the original 1974 film ended. Hanson will only be making a cameo in the film but revealed in a recent interview how this new film connects to the original. He also went on to talk about the script and the 2003 remake. You can see all this in the video below.
It’s a true sequel to the original. The opening of the movie is the last scene of the original movie. So it starts right at the beginning. In fact, they’re using some of the footage of Leatherface, of me, dancing, at the beginning. They’re using that footage as the opening shot, I think. I read the script, it looks pretty good. I can say that because I’m extremely critical of the sequels and the remakes. This one, you know, is not what I would have written, but I didn’t write it.

Moviegoers are often torn trying to decide if 3D is worth it or not. It has high ticket prices and it’s used most of the time as a gimmick, wasn’t filmed for 3D (post conversion) and takes away from the movie going experience all around. I digress because Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have something to say about it all.
During the press conference for The Adventures of Tintin, Spielberg and Jackson talked about 3D, a lot of it is the standard argument but worth hearing again for those on the fence. I can’t argue about it anymore, so I’ll let the leaders do it for me.
Here’s what they had to say:

SuperHeroHype is reporting that the first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man will hit theaters next week attached to Captain America.
The trailer is reportedly 2 minutes and 30 seconds and likely be played by Sony Pictures at the Comic-Con panel next Friday, so stay tuned.
Four years after Spider-Man 3, starring Tobey Maguire, The Amazing Spider-Man promises to be a “more contemporary,” “more gritty,” and “more character-driven” look at the comic book hero. He’s a hero the 27-year-old Garfield knows well. Growing up, “I related to Peter Parker [Spidey's alter ego] so much because I felt like someone else inside,” he says. “I loved the comic books and the animated TV series and I even dressed up as Spider-Man as a kid.”
The trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is coming this week, Spider-Man next week…it’s all too much!

Disney released The Lion King in 1994 during it’s golden years (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) and it’s still considered their best film. A lot of people own the original VHS and DVD that came out in 2003 (including me), but Disney isn’t fooling around when they threaten a movie to their “vault” after a short period of time, so it went away.
Well good news is here, The Lion King will be getting a full theatrical 3D re-release on September 16 before the Blu-ray release October 4. The trailer is below and should take you back to your childhood instantly. (more…)

My personal philosophy is that post conversion should be used for one thing and one thing only – which is to take library titles that are favorites that are proven, and convert them into 3D – whether it’s Jaws or ET or Indiana Jones, Close Encounters… or Titanic. Unless you have a time machine to go back and shoot it in 3D, you have no other choice. The best alternative is if you want to release a movie in 3D – make it in 3D. - James Cameron [BBC]
Now with that out of the way, Titanic will be released April 6, 2012 in 3D.

Paul W.S. Anderson’s 3D version of The Three Musketeers will open October 14th, and yes I am experiencing deva ju as well. For a story that never seemed to interest anyone as a movie [The Three Musketeers 1993] and [The Musketeer 2001] they are really trying for it this time…three musketeers meet three dimensions!
The film stars Matthew Macfadyen, Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson and Luke Evans along with Christoph Waltz, Milla Jovovich, Mads Mikkelsen, Til Schweiger, Juno Temple and Orlando Bloom.
Synopsis: The hot-headed young D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman) joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (Matthew MacFadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson) in this reboot of Alexandre Dumas’ story. They must stop the evil Richlieu (Christoph Waltz) and face off with Buckingham (Orlando Bloom) and the treacherous Milady (Milla Jovovich). The action adventure is given a state of the art update in 3-D.
