Zooey Deschanel seems to be growing on me lately, although she still needs to learn how to blink when talking – but I can forgive that. She stars in (500) DAYS OF SUMMER later this month, and if the buzz since Sundance accounts for anything, it’s defiantly something to check out. Today comes the news that she is joining the stoner medieval comedy YOUR HIGHNESS (get it?) with David Gordon Green (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS) at the helm. Also reuniting for the flick are Pineapple smokers James Franco and Danny McBride. Did I mention this movie also has Natalie Portman? Yowza!
Portman is a warrior princess who is love interest for McBride, who must complete a quest to save his father’s kingdom. I bet he smokes a lot while doing so, eh…right? Ben Best who wrote YOUR HIGHNESS has been working with McBride for some time, back since FOOT FIST WAY and more recently on the fantastically funny EASTBOUND & DOWN for HBO. Franco takes the role as the more brave and heroic brother (really?) and Deschanel his virgin bride (really?).
