Tony Kaye (American History X) has been under the radar for years, so it’s nice to see his latest film Detachment hitting the spotlight in recent weeks. The cast includes Adrien Brody, James Caan, Christina Hendricks, Lucy Liu, Marcia Gay Harden, Bryan Cranston, William Petersen, Blythe Danner and Tim Blake Nelson.
The story follows a substitute teacher on assignment at a failing public school and the chronicle of three weeks in the lives of several high school teachers, administrators and students as seen through the eyes of the substitute teacher.
