If there was ever a director in need of reinventing himself, Kevin Smith would be my top choice. I haven’t always been a strong supporter of his work of the last few years, but I will hand it to him, this trailer for Red State has me interested in his work again. Not a lot is known about the project, but check out the poster and trailer for yourself. Also, anything with John Goodman is instant viewing for me.
The Sundance festival film guide states: Red State begins by following three horny high school boys who come across an online ad from an older woman looking for a gang bang. Boys being boys, they hit the road to satisfy their libidinal urges. But what begins as a fantasy takes a dark turn as they come face-to-face with a terrifying “holy” force with a fatal agenda.
