Trailer for ‘Moneyball’ Has Brad Pitt Trying To Save Baseball

June 16th, 2011 by Graham McMorrow

moneyballThe first trailer for Moneyball starring Brad Pitt is here and makes Baseball look very interesting, not an easy feat. Based on a true story from the Michael Lewis book, Brad Pitt is Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland Athletics baseball team.  In an attempt to put his baseball club on the map but on a budget, the manager hires a college grad, played by Jonah Hill, who uses statistics to pick players who will win games.

Bennett Miller (Capote) directed the adaptation by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and Steven Zaillian (Schindler’s List). Originally Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven) was set to direct but creative differences led the studio to drop the film until Brad Pitt resurrected the project.

The film also stars Kathryn Morris, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright. The film is set to open up on September 23rd 2011.  Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think.

So I have a new copy of the trailer reposted, as YouTube took the last one down. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. Also as a baseball fan I tend to listen to the commentary on anything sports related. And on Twitter that can lead to hilarity. For fellow sports enthusiasts check these out.!/search/%23Moneyballmoviespoilers
