  1. Eligibility is a huge worry for some. The Student Loan Forgiveness Act’s repayment and forgiveness arrangement only applies to federal student loans. The Student Loan Ranger repeatedly distinguishes between federal and private loans and provides information on relief for federal loans that is already available.

    • Student loans can be confusing, with many out of the ordinary types and and servicers. Consolidation exemplifies this perplexity. There are many choices, but only one retains federal protections like income-driven settlement plans, deferments and forbearances, and forgiveness.
If you are consolidating federal student loans, consolidate into a Federal Consolidation Loan. These would be eligible for the Student Loan Forgiveness Act’s 10/10 plan and improvements to Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and the interest rate cap would submit an application to new loans after the act is approved. They also are eligible for the existing protections mentioned above.

Keep in mind, however, that consolidating loans may reset any progress you’ve made toward relief like Public Service Loan Forgiveness. If you consolidate federal loans through a private service, they are not eligible for relief under the Student Loan Forgiveness Act, or for any currently available relief.
A common point of perplexity: Just because you make payments to lenders like Sallie Mae doesn’t mean you don’t have a federal loan. Log into the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) to see if you at present have a federal loan; it’s worth knowing if you can access some relief!

If you’re repaying student loans and want to simplify the method by making a single check every month, we’re content to help. Likewise, if you’ve fallen on financial hardship, Student Loan Consolidation can help you weather your conditions by lowering monthly payments and avoiding a default. If you’re already in default, we can help with that, too.

Our Consolidation team are professionals in providing the accurate documentation needed to be submitted to the right channels. We have streamed lined the method and make it very simple. There are quite a lot of programs available and will qualify you for the best one. Please contact us to see which Student Loan Debt Releif plan is best for you.
