The Farrelly Brothers Moving Forward With A ‘Dumb & Dumber’ Sequel For Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels

Brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly have made some good comedies (Osmosis Jones, There’s Something About Mary, Shallow Hal) but the ones that stands out above those is actually one of my favorite comedies of all time, Dumb & Dumber.  There have been talks of a sequel for years and after the travesty that was Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd many thought all was lost.

The brothers have wrapped production on their big screen version of The Three Stooges and now hope to move on to a sequel to the 1994 hit. Deadline reports that they intend to bring back Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels and original producers Charles B. Wessler, Brad Krevoy and Steve Stabler.  A script is being written by Sean Anders and John Morris (Sex Drive).  Now this is unexpected, and exciting.  I only hope this isn’t to build buzz around the current Stooges project which has to be one of the riskiest movies in years.  Carrey isn’t one for sequels but let’s face it couldn’t hurt his current star standing to return to one of his best roles.

The Three Stooges hit each other on April 4th, 2012.  Stay with us for any more Dumb & Dumber news.
