What could possibly go wrong?

Welcome to The CoF Weekend Preview where we take a look at what’s going on this weekend in entertainment. Check back Sunday for the Box Office Report and return Monday for The City Strip.  Take care now, bye bye then.

Don’t Be Afraid Of The DarkIMDBRT (58%)

Guillermo del Toro produced and wrote this remake of a made-for-tv movie which he says is partly inspired by Disney’s The Haunted Mansion ride.  The trailers make it look creepy enough, but if horror movies of the past decade or more have taught me anything, it’s that there is going to be a shitty ending.  So what I’m saying is this movie is going to have a shitty non-ending.

Our Idiot BrotherIMDBRT (66%)

The studio did a good job at hiding this movie for the summer only to put a commercial for it on TV 20 minutes.  Paul Rudd stars, so that’s a bonus – also his girlfriends from I Love You, Man and Role Models (Rashida Jones, Elizabeth Banks) are also there, so that’s nice.  Adam Scott is in this too, sick.  Go see this one.

So a young woman grows up to be an assassin after witnessing the murder of her parents.  They should have just cast Lucy Liu and called it O-Ren Ishii: Origins.
