spider-man 4 might be watchable

The last movie that I wished I had walked out of was Spider-Man 3.  I even asked my friend if they wanted to leave; they were adamant that something good was going to happen.  So we both left pretty pissed off is how that story ends.  The video after the jump sums up pretty well why the movie failed on so many levels.  Serenity now…serenity now.  Even now Sam Raimi admits that Spider-Man 3 was a letdown. He has said this several times and most recently states:

I think having so many villains detracted from the experience. I would agree with the criticism.  I think I’ve learned about the importance of getting to the point and the importance of having limitations, and I’m hoping to take that into a production where I’m actually allowed to explore with more of the tools to pull it off with a little more splendor.  I hope I don’t lose that edge that I’ve just found. That would be my approach to Spider-Man 4: to get back to the basics.

As of right now, no story details have been revealed for the new Spider-Man 4 film, and it starts shooting soon.  Everyone has signed on to return and it’s gone through a couple of great screenwriters.  So in conclusion, I will keep my jacket on this time.
