The first official Ricky Gervais news of 2011, let’s make it a weekly thing shall we? So news to me, there is going to be a new version of The Wind in the Willows, a live-action/animatronics film based on the classic series of books and TV show (which freaked me out as a child).
Ricky Gervais himself among other sources are reporting he is the first cast member, the voice of Mole. Here is the official site for the film, which also hosts a teaser trailer that debuted at Comic Con. The film will shoot this year with more cast details to come soon.
It should be noted that WITW has been adapted in many forms for screen and stage; this time around however may stand out as WETA, the effects team behind The Lord of the Rings will oversee the film. I hear they do good work?
