Maybe someone can help me with this one; The Bourne series is going on without Matt Damon in what isn’t a reboot or prequel or even a sequel but just happens to take place in the same “Bourne universe”. Bourne was name of Damon’s character Jason Bourne…so why if it’s a new story do we still have that name in the title? Will people find comfort in that name and buy a movie ticket regardless if Bourne is even in the movie or just makes some final credits cameo? Shrug.
Tony Gilroy, who wrote the first three Bourne movies is directing this time with a cast that includes Rachel Weisz, Oscar Isaac, Joan Allen, Albert Finney, and Edward Norton as the villain. The Bourne Legacy opens August 3rd. [Image via: USA Today]
