I miss the days when movie theaters would have the nerve to rape our minds with ultra violent or borderline pornographic movies. Midnights showings where all the weirdos and kids with fake ID’s came out to play. Alas those days are over, so we are forced to watch such things by hiding in our mother’s basement by the pale moonlight with a bucket of popcorn and a Fresca. Just me? Well something tells me I won’t be alone when Anchor Bay brings us Rob Zombies first animated feature THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO directly to DVD and Blu-ray September 22nd. Talented voice work will be done by the likes of Rosario Dawson, Paul Giamatti, Danny Trejo, Clint Howard, Zombie pals Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, and his lover Sheri Moon Zombie (lucky man).
The story follows the adventures of El Superbeasto, a washed-up Mexican luchador who now finds himself in the very ordinary capacity as producer/director/star of BeastoWorld Enterprises. Alongside his sultry sidekick and sister Suzi-X they confront an evil villain by the name of Dr. Satan in the mythic world of Monsterland. Check out the official site for some more insight and fun. Zombies next feature HALLOWEEN II hits theaters August 28th and if you have been keeping up with his MySpace page you may have come across this fine art featuring Myers and our Superbeasto friend getting along.
