CoF Weekend Preview: Pixar’s First Heroine

Welcome to The CoF Weekend Preview, here is a look at what’s opening this weekend and don’t forget to check out the City of Films SUMMER MOVIE GUIDE so you can plan your summer movie experience. See you here Monday for a new City Strip and the start of Ricky Gervais Week!

BRAVERT (73%) – CoF

I’m hearing a lot of mixed things about this one, Pixar is still on top in my eyes but I guess others are expecting better and better.  I’d really just like to see Brave for what looks like amazing animation, even the hair on Merida is impressive.  FYI the end credits include a special tribute to Steve Jobs.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTERRT (40%) – CoF

“Four score and seven years ago…I killed vampires.”  I bet that’s not a real quote in the movie, but it may as well be.  This is so ridiculous is has to be seen, and surprisingly they were able to adapt the book on a budget of only $80M.  It should make back its money with civil war reenactors alone.

SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLDRT (54%) – CoF

This movie has two of my favorite people, Patton Oswalt and  Rob Corddry.  Other than that, it looks like a movie you just know is going to drop the ball in the final act and chicken out from doing something new and different with the material.

Also Opening: To Rome with Love
