I would never want to source Twitter, but it seems to be the only way. Kevin Williamson (creator of Dawsons Creek) posted a not so subtle post to his Twitter while we continues to write the script for a new Scream trilogy saying:
Trying to figure out a Sid-less scenario. She won’t do it. This sucks
Courtney Cox Arquette and David Arquette were in talks to reprise their roles as Gale Weathers and Dwight in the sequel. When Wes Craven was recently asked about the project, he said that Bob Weinstein wants him to direct the film, but he wants to wait and see the screenplay before he decides. Something tells me is Wes Craven can do Wishmaster, the man can and will do anything today. The first Scream had solid writing; somehow I don’t think 2 or 3 or even these reboots or new sequels will hold up.
