Thankfully for the time being (and I hope in my lifetime) Back to the Future will continue to be one of the few movie properties that remains untarnished. We don’t need an animated movie, a prequel or a re-imagining gone wrong. We have a brand new DVD and Blu-ray release (includes a new 6-part retrospective documentary) planned for October, and it’s even returning to theaters – unfortunately for those of us in North America, the re-release will only be happening overseas.
According to Empire Magazine, the original Back to the Future will return to cinemas in the U.K. on October 1st. The 25th Anniversary DVD and Blu-ray set will then arrive in stores on October 26th. Someone find me a facebook group to join to get this movie a worldwide re-release. The trailer for said re-release is below. Sad face.
