I can’t imagine how annoyed Christian Bale is going to be very soon, with all the press he has to do with Terminator and the inevitable questions he will be getting about another Batman movie. I guess it could be worse; we could have type cast him as a newsie paper boy.
Totalfilm caught up with Bale recently and here is what he had to say regarding the next Batman movie.
“Will we do a third movie? It’s got to be the right story. You can’t make something like The Dark Knight and then come out with something disappointing. I would like it if people say, ‘You’ll never make a good third movie.’ I say, ‘OK, let’s make a third movie in that case, let’s prove them wrong. But that’s just me. The fact is, I have to! I’ve signed up! Chris doesn’t. So I’m in a bit of a fix if he says he doesn’t want to!”
Ok, so The Dark Knight is one of the best movies ever made and the expectations on the 3rd one would be so high I don’t know how Nolan could do it. Can he? My best bet for a better Batman movie if possible would be for Nolan to take some much needed time off from that world and focus on some other projects. Then in a few years time he will come punch us all in the face again with a great story. We will thank him.
