Pee-wee has been making a comeback for the past little while (video below), and Paul Reubens has been talking about making a few movies now for what seems like forever. Now we are getting somewhere…There’s word that one of these two films is being developed for Universal by Judd Apatow, with Reubens writing. Reubens said he wanted to do a more ‘adult’ oriented film and also a kid’s movie. So with Apatow at the helm, I’m thinking this may be the adult version.
Variety says that Apatow is working with Universal and Reubens to create “a road pic built around a gigantic adventure.” Apatow is only producing at this point, not directing. Here is some nice things they had to say about each other:
